G1 Cartoon

Prowl is an Autobot who was very loyal to his leader, Optimus Prime.  He was listed as a strategist, but that specialty was rarely ever used.  Prowl was a police sports car in vehicle mode and looked very similar to Bluestreak and Smokescreen.  There were actually several episodes where there were animation errors that Prowl turned into Bluestreak and Bluestreak turned into Prowl.  They even had the same voice actor.  Most of the time in the cartoon, Prowl was relegated to a minor background character.

On Cybertron, Prowl and Trailbreaker stay with Optimus Prime while Optimus gets a report from Jazz.  When Optimus Prime plans to leave Cybertron with the Autobots, Prowl helps prepare the Ark.  On the Ark, Prowl monitors the sensors.  He reports to Optimus Prime that the Autobots are being followed by Megatron and the Decepticons.  The Autobots and Decepticons have a brief fight on the Ark, and the Ark crashes onto Earth.  Prowl and the rest of the Transformers remain in stasis lock for millions of years.  Prowl is part of the battle group Optimus Prime and Jazz organize to stop the Decepticons, after all of the Transformers are repaired.

After returning to the Ark with Spike, Prowl is instrumental in capturing the Decepticon spy Ravage.  Prowl and Jazz use their arm attachments to fire a net like cage around Ravage.  Prowl then joins Optimus Prime when the Autobots attempt to defend Sherman Dam.

Prowl is part of the unsuccessful trap that Optimus Prime and Hound make for the Decepticons.  Hound makes a fake rocket base with a hologram and the Autobots try to ambush the Decepticons.  Megatron saw through this and only sent junk drones.  While the Autobots were trying to ambush the Decepticons, they were at a different site getting the energy they needed.  After the Decepticons steal enough energy to travel back to Cybertron   Prowl, like all of the Autobots, freely volunteers to attack the Decepticons.  Sparkplug rides to the battle inside of Prowl.  The Autobots arrive at the same time that the Decepticons are boarding their ship.  During the battle, Spike hits Starscream’s blaster with a rock, knocking it off of his arm.  Prowl drives over it, destroying the blaster.  During the battle, The Autobots have the upper hand in the battle, but the Decepticons retreat to their space cruiser.
After months of peace, the Decepticons resurface and attack a solar power plant.  Optimus Prime organizes a team of Autobots to stop them.  Prowl is included in the team.  The Autobots crash into the power plant and fight the Decepticons.  The Decepticons plan their escape, but Ratchet and Prowl fire on Starscream.  Starscream disarms both Autobots with his blaster.  The Decepticons escape with their Energon.  Later, Prowl is part of a rescue party to save Spike from the Decepticons. .  Inside of a cave, the Decepticons trap the Autobots inside, and attack.  Prowl fires on Megatron, but is cold cocked by Skywarp.  The Decepticons retreat back to the Space Bridge with the Autobots stuck in the cave. Together, the Autobots fire on the rocks which are keeping them trapped in the cave.

Now that Starscream is leader of the Decepticons, they are not as well organized as they were under Megatron’s leadership.  After an unsuccessful mission to create Energon Cubes, Prowl and Bluestreak fight Soundwave.  The Decepticons attempt to retreat and Optimus Prime sends Bluestreak and Prowl to follow the Decepticons.  Prowl and Bluestreak catch the Decepticons trying to repair themselves.  The two Autobots are quick to fire first on the Decepticons.  Prowl is shot by Starscream in the chest.  Ravage then attacks Bluestreak, Prowl saves his friend when he shoots Ravage.  Prowl is shot again, this time by Soundwave and is severely injured.  He uses his internal wifi (not called that in the show though) to link up with another computer.  That computer winds up being Chip Chase’s computer.  Chip takes control of Prowl to fight the Decepticons.  Chip controls Prowl very successfully.  Using a fighter jet’s missiles, Prowl and Chip are able to make the Decepticons retreat.

When the Dinobots are created, they are too wild and attack the Autobots.  Prowl is injured by Slag, who uses an electrical attack with his horns.
Ratchet and Wheeljack have Prowl, Bluestreak, Sideswipe, and Ironhide test the two new Dinobots.   Swoop flies down and carries Bluestreak away.  Prowl fires at Swoop and he drops Bluestreak.

When Sparkplug is kidnapped by the Decepticons, Prowl creates a strategy to get him back.  Prowl is one of the Autobots who swims in the ocean to attack the Decepticon base.  While underwater, Megatron attacks the Autobots.  Prowl’s plan was successful Cliffjumper, Brawn and Windcharger save Sparkplug.  Before the Autobots can catch their breath, Megatron leads the Decepticons to attack them again.   After the Autobots learn that Megatron has constructed a massive Space Bridge, Prowl goes with the Autobots to stop the Decepticons.  When they reach the Space Bridge, Megatron orders the mind controlled human workers to attack the Autobots.  He knows that Optimus Prime won’t allow the Autobots to harm a human.  The Decepticons are successful in activating the Space Bridge.  It brings Cybertron to Earth and causes numerous natural disasters across the globe. The Autobots are forced to retreat when Soundwave uses a sonic attack to clear the area.

Prowl and the Autobots travel on surfboards on the ocean.  There is a massive tidal wave approaching them.  The Autobots use the momentum of the tidal wave to travel to Megatron’s base on Earth.  The Autobots arrive just in time to see Megatron escape on a starship filled with Energon Cubes.  The Autobots track Megatron to a tropical island where he is using slaves to put Energon Cubes in his ship.  Once the mind controlled slaves are out of harms way, the Autobots attack.  The Autobots are pinned down by the Decepticons and Prowl tells Optimus Prime that the Autobots should retreat.  Optimus Prime refuses to retreat.  .  The Autobots are about to be defeated when Skyfire arrives with reinforcements.   The Autobots destroy Megatron’s ship, and the explosion caused by the Energon Cubes inside of it knocks Cybertron out of Earth’s orbit.
When the Autobots learn that Megatron is alive, the Autobots follow the Decepticons to Dr. Arkeville’s lab. Optimus Prime and Megatron work together to save the Earth and the Autobots return home.

When Sparkplug decides to attempt to make his own Autobot, named Autobot X, it is mindless and starts smashing the Autobot headquarters.  Prowl, Trailbreaker, and Ironhide briefly battle the creature.  Prowl subdues it with acid pellets and Autobot X is soon deactivated.  Prowl quickly goes back into battle when the Decepticons attack an Air Force Base.    Spike is injured in the battle and is in a coma.  Sparkplug, Wheeljack, and Ratchet put Spike’s mind into a robot body.  Autobot Spike can’t think clearly and is violent.  He winds up joining the Decepticons and Prowl helps the Autobots fight the Decepticon forces.  Of course, Autobot Spike regains clarity and is turned back into a human.
Prowl joins the Autobots when they seek out the Decepticons to recover the Immobilizer.   The Autobots are victorious when Ironhide smashes the Immobilizer.
When time portals are opening up, Prowl is sent with Jazz, Inferno, and Red Alert to keep the peace.  Old West bandits came out of a time portal and were fighting bikers.  The bandits point their guns at Prowl, and he shoots the guns with his acid pellets.

After Cliffjumper discovers where the Decepticons may be hiding a piece of stolen energy creating equipment, Prowl joins the Autobots on a mission to recover it.  The Autobots reach the Decepticon base in a desert valley and transform into robot mode.  Laserbeak discovers the Autobots and they leap into the valley to battle the Decepticons.  During the battle, Shrapnel hits the Electro Cells with his blaster accidentally.  They start to explode.  The Autobots retreat so the Electro Cells won’t be in further jeopardy of destroying the Earth.
Prowl and the Autobots travel to Japan at the request of Dr. Fujiama.  The Autobots are tasked to guard an advanced robot named Nightbird.  Of course, the Decepticons attack to steal the robot and Prowl is the first to leap into battle.  With Mirage, Prowl battles Rumble and Frenzy.  He is damaged when Laserbeak swoops down and shoots him.  The battle ends when Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp rip the ceiling off of the building and steal Nightbird.  Once Nightbird is stolen, the rest of the Decepticons retreat.

Prowl shows up battling the Decepticons in the desert when Megatron creates a clone of Optimus Prime.

When the Decepticons ally themselves with the undersea nation of Atlantis, they invade Washington DC.  Prowl travels with the Autobots to liberate the city.  The Autobots arrive in time to make it into the city before the Atlantean force field is activated.  Prowl teams up with Hound to fight the Decepticons.  They are chased into the reflecting pool by the Washington Monument.  They try to make sure that the monuments aren’t damaged by the invaders.  Prowl and Hound fight Thundercracker and Skywarp.  Brawn and Optimus Prime join the fight and Thundercracker crashes.   King Nergil immobilizes the Autobots with his magnetic weapon.  Eventually, Grimlock gets the magnetic weapon and destroys it.  Once the weapon is destroyed, the Autobots regain their mobility and the Decepticons retreat.  After repairing Washington DC, the Autobots travel to Atlantis again to confront the Atlanteans and Decepticons.  The battle is brief and ends when the Atlantean King sets off explosions in the city.

Prowl follows Optimus Prime when the Decepticons attack the Ark.  Thundercracker fires his blasters at a mountain causing an avalanche.  Prowl transforms into robot mode and leaps over the rocks, but is attacked by Laserbeak.  Prowl attaches a snare to his laser and ties up Laserbeak.  The Decepticons suddenly retreat and the Autobots return to base.  The next day, the Autobots receive a warning from Teletran 1 that a rocket is being attacked by the Decepticons.  .  The Autobots plan to go to defend the rocket but they start to become evil.  Megatron and Starscream snuck into the Autobot base and altered their recharging station to turn the Autobots evil.  Optimus Prime, Prowl, and Brawn attack a rocket base to get the satellite.  They burst through the barrier and continue to the runway.  The three Autobots transform and search the tarmac for the rocket with the satellite.  Together, they start to damage the jets on the base.  Prowl’s mind is restored by Hound.  After all of the Autobots are restored, they travel inside of Skyfire to stop the Decepticons from leaving Earth with an energy gathering satellite.  The Autobots are victorious, again.

Prowl goes on a mission with the Autobots to save the staff of Quantum Labs.  Megatron reprogrammed a powerful computer called Torq III.  Torq III has complete control of the lab and confined the workers inside.  The Autobots are quickly attacked by the automated defenses which are being controlled by Torq III.  The Autobots draw their weapons and rush into the compound.  They are met by a squad of tanks which are also under Torq III’s control.  Wheeljack rips the turret off of a tank and Prowl destroys it with his blaster.  Once the Autobots realize that they are being attacked by computer controlled drones, they don’t hold back.   The Autobots are surrounded by tanks and the automated cannons start to target them.  Instead of retreating or commanding the Autobots to destroy the vehicles, Optimus Prime orders the Autobots to disable the vehicles by shooting the tire.  The tanks overwhelm the team of Autobots, but they are saved by the Dinobots.  The Autobots try to approach Torq III’s control room, but the door is locked.  Optimus Prime blasts it open with his rifle.   Torq III uses an automated machine emerges from the control room to attack the Autobots.  This machine has a large purple claw and it grabs Prowl and tries to crush him.  Before the life can be crushed from Prowl, he gets a hand loose and shoots an acid pellet inside of the machine.   After all of the machines are destroyed, Optimus Prime leads the Autobots into Torq III’s main building.  Torq III has altered the building to become a maze.  Optimus Prime leaves the rest of the Autobots at the entrance of the maze so they can’t get lost.   Prowl knows Optimus is walking into a trap, but can’t stop him.  After Optimus Prime successfully deactivates Torq III, the Autobots use one of Quantum Labs’ hydrofoils to reach the Decepticon oil platform.  The Autobots get to the oil platform just as Hound, Spike, and Skyfire disable the force field that is protecting it.  The Autobots and Decepticons battle, and everyone is shooting wildly.  Megatron runs away and sets explosives to go off on the platform and the Decepticons retreat. The Autobots board their boat and escape safely.
Megatron creates a plan to discredit the Autobots.  The Autobots are given a trial and found guilty.  They are exiled from the Earth, but Megatron alters the flight plan to send the Autobots into the sun.

After the Autobots were exiled from Earth, Cosmos guides the Autobot spacecraft away from Earth.  The ship is destroyed and the world thinks the Autobots are dead.  They survive when Trailbreaker surrounds the Autobots with a force field and links it to Cosmos.  Cosmos guides the Autobots back to Earth.

Megatron steals a device from a scientist and uses it to disrupt all communications on Earth.  Because motorists in a mountain range didn’t know snow was coming, they are trapped on the snow filled road.  Prowl and several other Autobots rush to save them.  They use a snow tire function in vehicle mode to reach the motorists. Prowl lifts cars out of the snow to rescue the drivers.  As the Autobots finish rescuing all of the motorists, they are attacked by Ramjet and Thundercracker.  Prowl tries to throw himself in the way of the Decepticons’ weapons and Trailbreaker uses his force field to protect everyone.  The Decepticons fire on a mountain and cause an avalanche.

Jazz leads Gears, Ironhide, Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Mirage on a recon mission.  They were notified of strange Decepticon activity.   Sunstreaker realizes that something is wrong when the river they were driving to is missing.  The Autobots follow the dried up river and discover that the Constructions made a dam to divert the river for the Decepticons.  They transform and follow the dried up lake to a waterfall.  They lose track of the Constructicons at a waterfall.  They eventually catch up to the Decepticons, but they are greeted by Devestator.  Prowl tries to call the Ark for reinforcements, but Devestator throws a rock at the Autobots and they fall off a cliff.    Devestator leaps off of the cliff to engage the fallen Autobots.  He quickly uses his eye lasers to attack the damaged Autobots and they fly into a rock wall.  Jazz distracts Devestator and the Autobots are able to escape.

Prowl participates in the Autobot race for charity. The race ends with no clear winner because the Autobots kicked up so much dust, no one could tell who won. The Decepticons show up with their new device and use it to trap the Autobots in vehicle mode.  The Autobots learn they are trapped in vehicle mode when the Decepticons attack.  The Decepticons subdue the Autobots by shooting out their tires and overheating their engines.  The Autobots are captured and brought to Megatron’s ghost town. Before Megatron can accomplish complete Autobot destruction, Wheeljack, Ratchet, Brawn, Huffer, Bumblebee and their human friends arrive with a grenade that restores the Autobots’ ability to transform.
Prowl stays inside of the Autobot headquarters while most of the Autobots go on a rescue mission to save Cosmos.  Prowl stands with Perceptor while he studies Morphobot spores.  Perceptor confirms that the spores are truly Morphobots and Prowl says that he thought they were extinct.  Prowl touches them and they continue to grow.  Later, Prowl and Perceptor contact Optimus Prime about their findings.

Prowl leads a team of Autobots consisting of Tracks, Skids, and Bluestreak to stop Blitzwing from attacking a nearby city.  The team of Autobots heads to a football stadium that Blitzwing has turned into his base of operations.  Scrapper notices them approaching and wants the Constructicons to open fire on the Autobot caravan.  Blitzwing orders Scrapper and the Constructicons to allow the Autobots through so then can get lost in the highway maze that the Constructicons built for Blitzwing.  The Autobots have a treacherous time navigating through the maze.  They are unable to avoid crashing into the walls.  Prowl and Skids crash into each other and explode.  Blitzwing races towards them in plane mode.  When he reaches the two damaged Autobots, he transforms into tank mode and crushes their already damaged bodies.  Blitzwing turns all of the defeated Autobots into a throne.  Off camera, Prowl is restored and brought back to life.

The US Government develops a super fuel and Optimus Prime plans to test it for the government on the Autobots.  Prowl is part of the security detail that guards the tanker trucks while they deliver the super fuel.  Prowl assumes that the Decepticons have no knowledge of the super fuel.  Of course, the Decepticons strike from the air to gain possession of the super fuel.  The Autobots have the tanker trucks stay behind while they engage the Decepticons.   The Autobots guide the tanker trucks into a canyon which impedes the air based Decepticons from following.  Dirge and Thrust crash into the canyon walls, but Ramjet continues to chase the Autobots.  Optimus Prime guides the Autobots towards a tunnel to evade Ramjet.  Ramjet crashes into the mountain.   The Autobots emerge from a tunnel and Megatron points his cannon at the tanker trucks carrying the super fuel.  Megatron threatens to destroy the super fuel unless the Autobots hand it over to him.  Optimus Prime and Prowl transform in preparation of a battle.    Optimus Prime and Prowl approach Megatron with their weapons lowered.   He doesn’t think Megatron is willing to kill himself to destroy the Autobots and the super fuel.  Megatron prepares to fire his cannon, but Smokescreen speeds towards Megatron and unleashes a cloud of smoke.  This gives Optimus Prime and Prowl the opening they need to safely fire their weapons at Megatron.  Megatron is damaged and leaves the battle.

After Megatron captures Perceptor to cure his Cosmic Rust, Megatron is willing to release Perceptor back to the Autobots.  Perceptor is infected with Cosmic Rust and is attached to a bomb.  Prowl goes with the Autobots to save Perceptor.  The Autobots are infected with Cosmic Rust.  Megatron wants the Statue of Liberty destroyed so the Autobots can’t make more Corrostop and cure their Cosmic Rust.    Before Menasor can destroy the Statue, the Autobots reveal themselves. Prowl and a few other Autobots were hiding on the Statue.   Optimus Prime opens fire and the rest of the Autobots follow his lead.   The Autobots are able to replicate the Corrostop and cure their cosmic rust.

After Powerglide discovers Jazz and Cliffjumper restrained in a power station, Prowl goes with the Autobots to save them.

Optimus Prime leads Sideswipe, Prowl, and Tracks to a destroyed city to protect the survivors from the Insecticons.  The Autobots rush into the remains of the city to battle the Insecticons.   Prowl fires on the Insecticons with a blaster from his vehicle mode.  The Insecticons try to hide by digging holes in the ground.  Optimus Prime can’t fight the Insecticons with so many fragile humans around, so he calls the Protectobots to help evacuate the city.  The Protectobots are able to clear out all of the people from the city.  Optimus Prime and the other Autobots start to battle the Insecticons now that the humans are safe.   The Autobots continue driving through the city and shooting Insecticons out of the sky. Prowl would rather squash the Insecticons instead of wasting ammo on them.  The Autobots go to the Space Bridge to go to Cybertron.  Shrapnel removed the control panel and buried it.  Prowl helps Optimus Prime track down the Insecticons to recover the stolen Space Bridge control panel.  The Insecticons are found in a garage eating some of the cars. They are too late, when they get to the Insecticons, the control panel is already chewed up  Perceptor is able to repair the damage.  Prowl joins the Autobots and Decepticons when they go to Cybertron to stop the Combaticons from making the Earth fall into the Sun.  The Decepticons and the Autobots use the Space Bridge to go to Cybertron. The Combaticons attack both forces.   Optimus Prime tells Prowl and Sideswipe to cover him.  They shoot Blast Off out of the sky.  The  Combaticons are surrounded, so they merge into Bruticus.  Starscream reveals that when he built the Combaticons, he gave Bruticus a weakness in case he rebels.  Optimus Prime runs behind Bruticus and fires on the three spots.  The Earth is saved but after the Autobots leave Cybertron, Megatron reprograms Bruticus.

Prowl was killed in 2005 when Megatron and the Decepticons hijacked an Autobot Shuttle that Prowl was on.

Marvel G1 Comic

Prowl was a little more prominent in the G1 comic book than in the cartoon.  He was Optimus Prime’s second in command and early on they focused a lot on the fact that he was a being of logic.  When The Decepticons invaded the Ark, Optimus Prime wanted to crash the spacecraft into Prehistoric Earth to wipe out Megatron and the Decepticon invaders, and Prowl advised against it.  4 million years later, when Optimus was debating if the Autobots should reveal themselves to the humans, Prowl was the first after Optimus to acknowledge the fact that Humans were lifeforms as well as the Cybertronians.

At one point, Prowl was made acting leader of The Autobots, Shockwave was holding Optimus Prime’s sentient head hostage.  Jazz suggests that they introduce themselves as friends and protectors to GB Blackrock, Prowl does agree to this, in a move which was very diplomatic.  Blackrock becomes an ally to the Autobots and when Jazz brings him to the Ark, Prowl is the one to show him around.  The Autobots learn of a Decepticon plot, using The Constructicons to build a device able to contact Cybertron.  Prowl leads a team of Autobots to investigate and is one of the first Autobots to fight Devestator.

Prowl is much less reactive than Optimus Prime.  Blackrock lets Prowl know that he has listening devices all over the factory that Shockwave is using as a base of operations.  Instead of attacking, he simply continues to listen and hope for the best.  Through the eavesdropping devices, they find out that not only has Optimus Prime transferred The Creation Matrix to Buster, but Shockwave knows this.  He sends Bumblebee and Bluestreak to protect Buster.

Prowl then leads the Autobot forces into a trap.  Shockwave learns of the listening devices in the factory and lures the Autobots to a swamp where Jetfire drops Optimus Prime’s head into the water.  He reunites Optimus’ head with his body, and Optimus attacks!  They quickly realize that this is not the real Optimus Prime.
Prowl isn’t seen for a very long time, he is laid up in the medical bay in a coma until after Optimus Prime dies.  When The Mechanic sneaks onto The Ark to get more Cybertronian technology, Ratchet reactivates Prowl and uses him to scare off The Mechanic in his police car mode.

Prowl remains part of the crew of the Ark even after Grimlock is made leader of The Autobots and takes The Ark into space.  When Grimlock and Blaster have their fight to the death on the moon, it is disrupted by the Decepticons.  Prowl jumps back into his previous leadership role and tries to take command of the Autobots in battle.
At one point, Prowl dies in battle but is resurrected by Grimlock when he pumps Nucleon into Prowl’s stasis pod.  Prowl is brought back to life in time to help the unified Autobot/Decepticon alliance in fighting Unicron on Cybertron.

In the aftermath of the battle with Unicron, The Autobot/Decepticon alliance attempts to continue.  Prowl is part of the group of Transformers who find Optimus Prime’s damaged body.  He dies in Prowl’s arms after giving Prowl a message for Grimlock. He names Grimlock the new leader of the Autobots with Prowl as his second in command.  Prowl finds it increasingly difficult to work with Grimlock.  During a meeting with the Autobot/Decepticon Alliance, Prowl is the only one who is trying to maintain the peace while Grimlock and the Decepticons are fighting among themselves.  The group learns that without Primus keeping the planet together, it is about to fall apart.  Prowl wants Grimlock to make a speech to help organize the evacuation of Cybertron, but Grimlock refuses.  Instead, Grimlock tracks down Fangry and they continue their fight.  Grimlock is too powerful for Fangry and even after defeating him in battle, Grimlock continues to beat Fangry with his fists until Prowl pulls him off.  Bludgeon was watching the entire time and threatens to end the alliance.  Prowl tries to be as diplomatic as possible and tries to save the alliance.

The alliance ends when Cybertron starts to self destruct and the Decepticons steal all of the ships to evacuate themselves.  Luckily, millions of years ago, before the Ark left for Earth, Grimlock and the Dinobots stole and hid a small fleet of Decepticon warships.  They use the ships to go to the planet Klo which the Decepticons are trying to conquer.  Prowl stays at Grimlock’s second in command and when Grimlock leads the Autobots into defeat, Prowl starts berating Grimlock for not using any strategy.  Eventually, the Autobots defeat the Decepticons when Optimus Prime returns to life and the Decepticons retreat into space.

In an alternate future, Prowl is shown as a member of the Autobot resistance on Earth.

IDW Re-Generation One

In  the Regeneration One book, Prowl is part of the Autobot leadership like he was at the end of the G1 Book.

When Bludgeon invades Cybertron, Hot Rod (who was named the new Autobot leader by Optimus Prime) was missing, and Ultra Magnus was occupied fighting Galvatron.  Prowl organizes the Autobots in defending Cybertron and creates a strategy with Kup and Perceptor.  When Perceptor figures out that Bludgeon’s War World is controlling Bludgeon’s battle drones, Prowl awakens Omega Supreme to help defend Cybertron.

Prowl remains in the background of the book, never making a large impact until the last issue when he is part of Kup’s away team to Earth.  Prowl is the first Autobot attacked by the Human Resistance (using GI Joe vehicles).

IDW Transformers

Prowl is given a lot more characterization in IDW than he did in the cartoon.

In his first appearance, he is shown reporting to the leader of the Autobots (at that time), Sentinel Prime.  He reports that Senator Decimus was injured in a riot, but not much more is known at this time.  Prowl promises to keep Sentinel Prime abreast of the status.

Prowl is present at the funeral for two Autobots, Fastback and Bumper, who were killed by Megatron.  THe Autobots soon learn that Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker had abducted an Autobot senator named Decimus.  He leads a strike team to recover the Senator.  Megatron is captured by the Autobots.

Later, Prowl is at a briefing with other Autobots and learns of Megatron’s success in the gladiator pits.

After Megatron defeats Sentinel Prime in battle, Prowl leads the evacuation of Kaon.

As the war progresses, Prowl is under command of Orion Pax.  Along with several other Autobots, they patrol Torus-City Nyon (aka The Rust Narrows).   Orion, Ironhide, and Prowl enter a building where Swindle is selling phase charges to a nameless Decepticon.  The Decepticon attacks the Autobots and from outside, Bumblebee acts as a sniper and shoots the Decepticon in the head.  One of the phase charges explodes and the Autobots see the bomber leaving the building.  Prowl wants to chase the bomber, but Orion tells him to stand down.

Soon after, Prowl and several other Autobots are gathered by Orion Pax to find Soundwave.  Prowl states that they have a window of opportunity because Soundwave can’t air lift himself to Kaon.  The Autobots track Soundwave to the factory district.  They corner him and Soundwave ejects Ravage to help him fight.   Ravage slashes Bumblebee and Hound with his claws.  Both Autobots are disabled.  Prowl and Ironhide try to help, but Soundwave ejects Rumble.  Rumble uses his pile drivers to create an earthquake that makes a building collapse.  Ironhide and Prowl are burried in rubble.

Later that day, Prowl helps extract Orion Pax from Megatron’s citadel.  Prowl uses a gun in each hand to attack the Decepticons.  The Autobots escape inside of Sky Lynx.

Zeta Prime orders Orion Pax, Prowl, Bumblebee, Silverbolt, Hound, and Ironhide to arrest Hot Rod.  Hot Rod is suspected to be a terrorist who uses bombs to create chaos.  Orion and his team go back to Nyon to search for Hot Rod. Prowl tells Orion that their target (Hot Rod) is in the Acropolex.  Ironhide thinks it is a trap.   Bumblebee asks Prowl what he knows about Hot Rod.  Prowl tells Bumblebee that he knows that Hot Rod has been modified for added speed.  As a team, the Autobots enter the Acropolex.   Suddenly, Hot Rod ambushes them.     Moments later, the Autobots follow and they see statues of the Knights of Cybertron.   Hound realizes that the room is rigged with plasma mines. Hot Rod lures the Autobots into a room filled with Energon tanks.  He intentionally chose that room because he knows that the Autobots won’t be able to fire their weapons without potentially harming themselves.    Hot Rod shows the Autobot team the masses of Nyon who had their Energon drained by Zeta Prime.

Prowl and the Autobots decide to protect Hot Rod and the refugees from Zeta Prime and his attack.   Orion and the Autobots prepare to fight the Omega Sentinels.  They know that they can’t defeat the legions of Sentinels, but they can slow them down.  Orion gives everyone a task.  .  Orion Pax and Prowl are the bait.  Despite their best efforts, the Autobots are unable to even scratch the Sentinels.   Hot Rod prepared for this, despite not wanting to, he detonates the city

Later, Springer, Kup and Prowl save Bumblebee from the Decepticons.

Prowl and Springer are providing security for the spaceport when many Transformers want to leave Cybertron due to an energy shortage.  Blaster is providing news coverage of the event and Prowl thinks that he is doing more harm than good.

After Megatron takes over Cybertron, Sky Lynx transports Optimus Prime, Prowl, and Blaster to Iacon so they can spread the word of freedom.

Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Dai Atlas, Bumblebee, Prowl, and Ironhide travel inside of Sky Lynx to a refinery.  They are responding to an alarm that went off.  They find the Dinobots fighting Scorponok and the Decepticons.

After the refinery is destroyed, Prowl tells Optimus Prime that there is about to be a riot at the spaceport of Transformers who want to leave the planet.  After the riot is quelled, the Decepticons attack.  Prowl tries to make a defensive strategy.

After Metroplex is defeated, Megatron’s siege begins with Junkions resurrected as Decepticons.  Prowl helps defend Iacon.

The Decepticons unleash a powerful assault on Prowl and the Autobots.  Everyone is saved when Trailbreaker erects a force field around them.  Once the dust clears, Prowl continues attacking the Decepticons.

Optimus Prime leads a team of Autobots to attack a Decepticon convoy which is transporting Energon.  The Decepticons fight back and Optimus Prime tells the Autobots to hold their ground.  Optimus Prime tells Prowl that the Autobots need to hold the line no matter what.  Prowl wants to get to the high ground to prevent the Decepticons from going into the alleys.  Optimus tells Prowl to send Hound to do it.  Optimus wants Prowl to take control of the troops so he can flank the Decepticons.  Prowl suggests that Silverbolt does an air strike so Optimus won’t have to fight alone.  Optimus tells Prowl that his mind is made.   That night, the Autobots celebrate their victory.  Prowl commends Optimus Prime for capturing 5 Decepticons without firing a single shot.  Optimus says he couldn’t have done it without his soldiers.  Prowl asks Optimus if he is going to address the troops.  Optimus wants his soldiers to celebrate the night.

Millions of years later, Prowl winds up on Earth.  Prowl, Ironhide, and Sunstreaker protect Ratchet, and his new human friends from Thundercracker.  They deploy weapons in vehicle mode and fire at the Decepticon Jet.  After Thundercracker is defeated, all of the Autobots transform.  They arrest Ratchet for disobeying orders.

In the Ark-19, the Autobots detain the three humans and question Ratchet.

Ratchet and Bumblebee go on a mission to investigate an abandoned Decepticon bunker in Nebraska.  When they discover that Megatron is in the bunker, they call Prowl for help.

Prowl is part of an Autobot team sent to a Decepticon base to engage them.  Bumblebee scouts ahead and tells the Autobots that the coast looks clear.  Jazz asks what the plan is.  Prowl tells all of the Autobots that they need to contain the Decepticons before the humans know that they are on Earth.

Prowl and his Autobots arrive at the Decepticon base in time to save Bumblebee from Runabout.  Prowl offers the Decepticons the chance to stand down and talk this out.  The Autobots watch Megatron defeat Starscream.  None of the Autobots fight the rest of the day.  They transform back into vehicle mode and go back to the Ark-19.  They realize they need their “heavy hitters”.

Once Optimus Prime arrives on Earth, Prowl orders Ratchet to sever his relationship with the humans; Hunter O’Nion, Jimmy Pink, and Verity Carlo.  Once Optimus Prime settles in at the Ark-19, he contacts Cybertron to confer with his advisers.  Prowl enters the room and tells Optimus that the humans are on their way home.  Optimus thanks him for taking care of this.

Optimus feels the need to call for reinforcements.  Prowl is insulted, but Optimus reaffirms him that it is not a reflection of his command skills.  Ironhide wants to look for Sunstreaker personally, but Optimus Prime tells him that Ironhide is needed with more important tasks.  After Optimus leaves the room, Prowl tells Ironhide that they need to talk.  Prowl and Optimus Prime scan Earth for any Decepticon activity.  They discover Megatron’s energy signature in the nation of Bratvia.  Optimus Prime tells Prowl to ready a strike team.  Optimus Prime, Prowl, Wheeljack, and Jazz teleport to Bratvia.  When they arrive, they immediately transform into vehicle mode.  Prowl tells Jazz to use his traction studs so he can drive in the snow easier.

Before Megatron is able to fire his weapon at Optimus, he is attacked by Jazz, Wheeljack, and Prowl.  The three Autobots have deployed blasters from vehicle mode.  They destroy Koska’s jeep.  Megatron tells the facsimile Koska to kill himself.  One of the Autobots briefly disables Koska, but then Skywarp and Astrotrain join the fight.  Skywarp strafes the three Autobots with his blasters.  Prowl drives at full speed towards Astrotrain.  Before they can engage each other, Hardhead shoots Astrotrain out of the sky.  Hot Rod speeds through the snow, but he almost crashes into Prowl.

Wheeljack contacts Prowl to ask him if he captured the facsimile.  Prowl blames Hot Rod for his failure (Prowl really is a dick in this story).  Hot Rod says that he will get the facsimile, but Prowl doesn’t have faith in the young warrior.  Hot Rod gets close to the facsimile but the Bratvian army is about to open fire.  Prowl transforms and scares them off.

Hot Rod and Prowl learn that Megatron has defeated Optimus Prime in battle.  The other Autobots are battling Megatron.  Hot Rod wants to join the fight.  Prowl tells Hot Rod not to join the fight because someone has to bring the facsimile of Koska to Nightbeat.  Hot Rod is disappointed, but understands his responsibilities after Prowl explains the chain of command.  Prowl transforms and drives to the other Autobots.  While in vehicle mode, Prowl fires his blasters at Megatron.  He takes command of the Autobot team and tells them that since Megatron doesn’t have any ranged weapons, but they do, they have an advantage.  He tells them to retreat and open fire and every time Megatron gets close, to retreat again.  Hardhead wants to continue fighting from close range, but Prowl reminds him who is in charge.  Megatron shoots a blast of energy from his mouth at Prowl, an ability he gained from the Ore-13.  Suddenly Optimus radios Prowl.  Prowl thought Optimus was dead, but Optimus explains that he downloaded his mind into his trailer and that saved him.  Optimus Prime tells Prowl, Jazz, Wheeljack, and Hardhead that he knows how to defeat Megatron.  The Autobots continue attacking Megatron, but Megatron is just too powerful.  Optimus Prime recovers and sneaks behind Megatron.  He shoots Megatron in the head   After Megatron is defeated, the Decepticons retreat.  Prowl rushes to Optimus to help him up.  Optimus tells Prowl that he will need some time in the CR Chamber.

Prowl tells Optimus that Hot Rod is recovering but no one has heard from Ironhide.  Prowl tells Optimus that Ratchet is looking for Ironhide and Nightbeat is analyzing data from the Decepticons.  Prime also learns that Verity and Jimmy are suffering no ill effects from the gas they inhaled.  Optimus walks out in the middle of Prowl’s briefing.

Nightbeat gathers Optimus Prime, Prowl and Bumblebee.  He explains to them the larger conspiracy at hand.  It seems that one of the Decepticon facsimiles gained some independence and took pictures of the Decepticon base.  It then uploaded the pictures to the mini computer which Verity stole from the facsimile.  When Verity activated the mini computer, it alerted the Decepticons.  Before the meeting, Nightbeat asked Bumblebee to scout around the area where he found a lot of, what seems to be human surveillance equipment monitoring the Autobots.  The humans were watching the Autobots for weeks and waited to abduct Sunstreaker.  Prowl asks what the humans want and Nightbeat has no clue. Optimus Prime asks if anyone has any recommendations on what they should do.  Nightbeat explains that the Ark-19 is compromised and they should move it.  Optimus agrees and has Prowl make the preparations.   Prowl commands the Autobots to prepare the Ark-19 to move to a new location.  Nightbeat plots a course to the Gulf of Mexico. l.  The Ark-19 starts rising out of Lake Michigan and begins traveling to it’s new location.  Ratbat spies on the Autobots from above.   Hardhead picks up that something is approaching them in the air.  The Autobots realize it is Sixshot.  The Ark-19 is too slow and bulky to evade the Decepticon.  Before the Autobots an open fire, Sixshot fires his weapons and the Ark-19 starts to crash onto a town.

The Ark-19 continues to fall to the ground.  The main engines are gone.  The power grid is off.  The Cloaking Device is malfunctioning.  The Autobots have fifty two seconds before the Ark-19 crashes into a town.  Optimus Prime tells Ratchet to use the maneuvering thrusters to move them a little bit.    The Autobots are able to prevent the Ark-19 from crashing into the town, but there is still a little destruction.  Also, the world now knows that they exist.   The ship crashes into water and self destructs.

The Autobots survive and save Ratchet from Sixshot.

Sixshot transforms back into robot mode to battle the Autobots The Autobots transform and Optimus Prime orders them to keep firing on Sixshot. Sixshot transforms into Tank mode. Jimmy cheers on the Autobots, but Verity is afraid they will lose the battle.  Only the humans notice that news helicopters are recording the battle for the world to see.  Optimus knows that Sixshot will destroy Earth if the Autobots don’t stop him.  Optimus tells all of the Autobots to open fire at full strength.  Meanwhile, a military drone is watching the battle.  Nothing the Autobots do can harm Sixshot.   Prowl tries to engage Sixshot, but Sixshot swats him away with ease.  While Optimus Prime fights Sixshot, Nightbeat is able to teleport all of the Autobots off of the battlefield.  Unfortunately the technology was compatible with Verity and Jimmy’s human bodies.

Now that the Autobots are in their new spacecraft, many of the Autobots are split up.  Some are getting repairs, and Optimus Prime is doing his own secret investigation.  This leaves Prowl in charge.  On the bridge of the ship, Prowl works and Hardhead joins him.  Hardhead asks Prowl if Hot Rod and Wheeljack have reported in from saving Ironhide.  Prowl hasn’t heard anything.   Optimus Prime learns that Garrus-9 (a jail which Fortress Maximus is the warden) has been breached.  He brings all of the Autobots back so they can go back to Cybertron.

On Garrus-9, Prowl briefs Optimus Prime, Fortress Maximus, and Jetfire on some escaped prisoners, the Decepticons who make up Monstructor.  Prowl tells the group that they found out that one Transformer survived the crash, but someone decapitated the survivor.  Optimus wants to confer with Prowl aboard the Ark-32

Aboard the Ark-32, Optimus tells Prowl that Omega Supreme identified the Transformers who have attacked the Autobots in recent times.  One is Galvatron, the other is Cyclonus.  Both were part of the crew of the original Ark.

Prowl listens to Tracks tell a story of how Jazz saved Tracks’ life in the past.
The Autobots stay on Cybertron for about a year in Earth time.  In that time, the Decepticons attack New York City.  On Cybertron, Optimus Prime is still in stasis lock from his previous injuries.  Prowl and Jazz continue to check in on their leader.

On Cybertron, Prowl and Ironhide get into an argument about a possible traitor in the Autobot ranks.  Prowl says that the defector could be anyone, even Ironhide.  Ironhide is furious and punches Prowl in the face.  Jazz breaks up the fight before it can continue.  Prowl asks Jazz why Ironhide listens to Jazz instead of him.  Jazz says that he uses the right tone.

Kup wants to name Jazz his second in command, even though Springer is already his second in command.  Prowl says that Jazz is a good choice for second in command.  Kup gathers all of the Autobots.  Prowl asks him if he is going to tell the Autobots that the Matrix is missing.  Kup doesn’t think it is the right time to tell them yet.  Kup wants to figure out a way to recover it.

As the Autobots travel deeper into Cybertron, Kup suggests they stop and take a break.

The Insecticon swarm starts it’s attack on the Autobots.  The Autobots prepare to make a final stand against the Insecticon swarm.  Jazz goes to Prowl and and finds out that Prowl has made over 6,000 simulations, and the Autobots only survive in 7 of them.  Jazz tells Prowl to keep that to himself.    As the Insecticon swarm approaches, Roadbuster fires the massive cannon at them. The battle continues as the Autobots fight to survive. The Autobots are about to lose, but they are saved by Omega Supreme.  Omega Supreme stomps a lot of Insecticons and then fires his blaster at them.  Optimus asks how Omega Supreme knew they needed help.  Hot Rod tells Optimus Prime that he signaled Omega.  Omega Supreme transforms into rocket mode and the Autobots escape back to Earth.

After Optimus Prime defeats Megatron, the Decepticons escape with Megatron in their possession.

Immediately after Megatron is defeated, Optimus Prime and Prowl survey New York City.  Optimus is troubled by the damage that they caused and wants to help rebuild.  Prowl tells him that they need to stay hidden..  Soon, more and more Autobots come to Earth.  Prowl and Optimus Prime greet Jetfire, Seaspray, and Windcharger.

Springer knocks Prowl to the ground with an uppercut.  Springer can’t find Kup or Perceptor aboard the Ark-17.  Internally, Prowl doesn’t think that The Wreckers should exist because there would be no need for a commando team if they had a proper front line.

Two years after the Decepticons are defeated on Earth, the Autobots are in hiding.  Prowl remains in vehicle mode and acts as a police officer’s car

After Megatron is defeated, Prowl remains on Earth but in hiding.  He is absorbed into the local police force, who think he is a regular police car.  Prowl and his unaware human partner arrive at a liquor store hold up.  He maintains secrecy as a police car for eight months.  One day, humans accidentally fire a Transformer weapon and it hits a building.  A woman falls out of the building and Prowl reveals himself to the world to save her.  The woman is saved, but rubble falls on Prowl.  The police officer waits to call Skywatch until the Autobots recover Prowl.  From now on, Prowl patrols without a human driver.

Prowl and Streetwise watch as Skywatch soldiers fight Breakdown.  Prowl wants to help, so he transforms into robot mode.  One of the Skywatch soldiers shoots Prowl with a disruptor bolt.  Prowl is disabled and captured.  Soon, Prowl is rescued by a covert team led by Hot Rod.

Prowl follows Hot Rod when he wants to leave Earth.  They go to Omega Supreme to try to leave Earth.  Omega says that he doesn’t have enough Energon to get back to Cybertron.  Hot Rod and the other Autobots are willing to give Omega Supreme some of their Energon so they can go to a new planet.  Omega Supreme refuses to leave Earth unless Optimus Prime comes with him.  As Omega Supreme is rejecting Hot Rod’s request, he detects several Decepticons about to attack.  Hot Rod orders the Autobots to fight back.  Before the first shot is fired, everyone decides to talk to each other.  Hot Rod and Swindle agree that it doesn’t make sense to fight anymore because the war is over.  Prowl doesn’t want to ally himself with Decepticons.  Hot Rod suggests everyone votes.

Motormaster sees that Ultra Magnus is approaching.  Hot Rod, Prowl, and Sandstorm greet Ultra Magnus.  .  Ultra Magnus wants to talk to Rodimus about Ironhide’s death since Rodimus was the leader of the mission.  He also reminds Rodimus that he is a deserter and doesn’t have authority to build a spaceship.   Ultra Magnus also tells Rodimus that he is not in line to be leader since Prowl is second in command.  Prowl explains that he gave up his right to be in charge since he felt Rodimus would do a better job.  Ultra Magnus demands that Rodimus and the other Autobots return to the Autobase or be declared treasonous.  Prowl tells Magnus that the war ended, so there are no sides for him to betray anymore.  Prowl reveals that he is the one who contacted Ultra Magnus to come to Earth.  Ultra Magnus transforms to return to the Autobase.

(the following section is about the IDW Infestation storyline, it is unknown if this is canon or not since there are many continuity errors)

Optimus Prime, Prowl, Kup, Bumblebee, and Drift arrive to face off against the three evil Transformers (Remember, in IDW, Galvatron and his forces are NOT Decepticons)

Bayonet reveals her true colors, she isn’t a Transformer, but she is an interdimensional vampire named Britt.  Britt uses her magic on the Transformers, causing them pain.  She knows that their technology will not prevent her magic at all.  Britt reveals that she used her powers of perception to make everyone see her as a Transformer.  Kup gets an arm free and shoots Britt in the face.  Optimus and Prowl rush to Kup’s side after Britt drops him.  The Zombies (both human and robot) try to crowd Optimus Prime and Galvatron’s forces.  Prowl calculates that the living will lose to the dead.  Optimus Prime asks for suggestions.   Optimus Prime and Prowl transform to rush into battle with Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge flying behind them.  Optimus Prime is upset that Galvatron’s attack also hurt humans and Galvatron doesn’t care.  Both sides of Transformers regroup to make a battle plan.  Galvatron demands command of the Autobots.  Bumblebee refuses.  Galvatron tells everyone that the Infestation isn’t the biggest problem.  Optimus Prime disagrees.  Wheeljack announces that the force dome that he created is running out of power and the zombies will soon be able to leave Las Vegas.  Britt plans to get Cybertron from a previous timeline to turn into a zombie army (or something like that, this whole storyline is really convoluted).  Prowl communicates with Kup (who is still infected and barely holding onto life) and tries to separate the virus from his core consciousness.  Prowl tries to get Kup to destroy the time portal that Britt made.  Kup is able to change the coordinates of the portal and the zombies, Britt, and Kup are sucked into the Dead Universe.  Galvatron retreats when the crisis is over and Jhiaxus makes a portal.

The Autobots are shipped to South Korea in a cargo ship.  They remain in vehicle mode so they won’t cause an international incident.  When the coast is clear, the Autobots emerge from their shipping containers.  Spike is unhappy with how Skywatch handled transporting the Autobots, and Optimus tells him that an army is only as good as their leader.  Spike calls Optimus Patton.  Optimus doesn’t know who that is and Cliffjumper thinks that Spike was referring to Patton Oswalt.  The Autobots go inside of a hangar and Spike tells them that no matter what, they have to stay in vehicle mode.  If it gets out that the US is harboring the Autobots, the President will be Impeached (he doesn’t know about the clandestine arrangement), Spike will be arrested, and the Autobots will be deactivated.  Spike brings Skywatch weapons for the Autobots.  The Autobots’ vehicle modes and they race with US Soldiers to battle the Combaticons.  Smokescreen opens fire on Vortex and kicks up a lot of dirt and smoke.  The Autobots have some cover now from the smoke.   Vortex continues his dogfight with Jetfire and slashes his wing.  Jetfire crashes into Broadside and the Combaticons escape.

The Autobots go to where the Combaticons are hiding.   Optimus contacts Bumblebee, who contacts Cosmos. Cosmos disables spy satellites above North Korea so the Autobots can fight in robot mode. Prowl and Jazz attack Brawl who is in tank mode.  Before the battle can continue, the Predacons show up because the battle is getting too close to China, who they have pledged allegiance to.

Optimus Prime tries to make peace with the Predacons before a massive battle starts.  Prowl contacts Bumblebee and says that they have a problem.  Prowl tells Bumblebee that China has employed the Predacons.   A Skywatch agent named Sandra starts to broadcast the battle live to everyone in the world.  While in beast mode, Tantrum knocks Prowl down.  The battle ends abruptly when the Transformers learn that Russia and fired nuclear missiles at them.  Cosmos redirects the missiles.  After the battle, Ratchet asks what the fate of the Autobots will be.  Prowl says it is in the hands of the humans.

The Autobots and Skywatch agents survive Megatron’s attack on their plane.  When it gets dark, they emerge from water.

Megatron contacts Optimus Prime and his group of Autobots (and Skywatch agents!).  Megatron tells Optimus that he has abducted the other Earthbound Autobots in a communication.  Megatron knows that Optimus and the Autobots are already on their way to save their friends.  Megatron wants to destroy Optimus Prime and Earth.  Skywatch tracks the transmission to New Mexico.  The Autobots and Skywatch agents prepare to attack the Decepticons.  The Autobots transform and drive to save their friends.  Smokescreen scouts ahead for Optimus Prime.  As the Autobots get close, Optimus Prime tells them they should travel the rest of the way on foot.  Megatron points to the nearby city and says that there are 46 humans in the city armed with Decepticon weaponry made from his old body.  Megatron then says that there are hundreds of weapons across Earth and Optimus will never be able to find all of them.    Megatron then surprises Optimus by telling him that the captured Autobots are in the city.  Megatron’s plan is to discredit the Autobots since the Autobots would have to kill humans to save their friends.  Optimus Prime wants Skywatch to find the captured Autobots.

Optimus goes to Prowl and tells him that he wants Prowl to investigate Scrapper’s death, but Spike is not to know.

After Optimus Prime reclaims the Matrix of Leadership, Prowl approaches Optimus.  Prowl wants to talk to Megatron alone. Prowl tells Megatron that he is the only Autobot who will speak to Megatron.  Prowl tells Megatron that they are leaving the planet.  Prowl leaves Megatron and tells Thundercracker that he can join the Autobots.  Thundercracker refuses and thanks them for the repairs, but he doesn’t want to be an Autobot.  Thundercracker tells Prowl that he has no way to hold him on Earth.  Bumblebee tells Prowl that he can’t hide anything from him from now on.

Bumblebee, Prowl, Streetwise, and Ultra Magnus “interview” Pennington to join the Autobots.  The Autobots “deputize” Pennington into the fold.  After the interview, Prowl goes into his office and Spike wants to talk to Prowl.  Spike is unhappy that a newscaster is making negative comments about the Autobots and asks Prowl what he plans to do about it.  Prowl tells him that he isn’t going to get involved and the newscaster has freedom of speech.  Spike tells Prowl that he is going to be off base for 36 hours.  Prowl asks what he is doing, and Spike says he has to do damage control in regards to the recent battle with Megatron.  Prowl enters Bumblebee’s office to talk.  Prowl is concerned that Jazz will disrupt his investigation. Bumblebee tells Prowl to be easier on Jazz.  Prowl tells Bumblebee that Pennington is doing research for the Autobots.  Prowl is wary of where Spike is going, so he tells Bumblebee that he is going to give Spike a head start but then he is going to follow him.  Prowl tracks Spike to a quaint neighborhood.  Prowl learns that Spike is having an affair with a woman and the concept of human relationships confuse Prowl.  While Prowl was waiting outside of the woman’s house in car mode (which really stands out since it is a highway patrol car in a residential neighborhood with an Autobot logo on the hood), a dog urinates on Prowl.  Breakdown is also waiting for Spike.  As Spike is about to get on his red motorcycle, Breakdown tries to run him over.  Breakdown misses but spins around to try again.  Prowl turns on his lights and siren to get Breakdown’s attention.  Spike gets inside of Prowl who tries to get him to safety.  Breakdown chases Prowl and Spike through out the neighborhood.  Prowl drives through several fences, but Breakdown stays on his tail.  Prowl is trying to get Breakdown out of the neighborhood so humans won’t get hurt.  Streetwise arrives and immediately transforms into robot mode to battle Breakdown.  Prowl chastises Streetwise for transforming into robot mode in front of humans.  Breakdown is damaged, but gets away.  When Prowl and Streetwise return to the Autobot base, Ultra Magnus yells at them.  Magnus already saw on TV that there was a battle and he criticizes Streetwise for transforming in public.  Luckily, there was no video footage of the battle, the news was just reporting on the aftermath.  Ultra Magnus is unhappy that both Streetwise and Prowl have police car alternate modes.  Magnus is afraid that they are hiding as police vehicles, it will add to the distrust that the humans have for Transformers. Prowl wants to “neutralize” the newscaster, a man named Ben Simpson.  Prowl feels that Simpson is adding to the distrust of Autobots and he is agitating the public.  Magnus is obviously against that idea.  Magnus also tells the other two Autobots that Skywatch has recovered over 50 of the Decepticon weapons which humans had.  Ultra Magnus wants Prowl and Streetwise to keep an eye on Spike.  In cover of night, Prowl secretly investigates a Skywatch building, hoping to find incriminating evidence.  Someone or something attacks the building and Prowl is caught in an explosion.  It seems like the building collapses around Prowl.

From under the rubble, Prowl tries to come up with a plan to save himself.  Prowl seems to be afraid, but he is trying to let logic dictate his next move.  Prowl thinks it is impossible to free himself, luckily Streetwise arrives in vehicle mode and saves Prowl.  The two Autobots realize that Brawl is attacking and they transform back into vehicle mode to engage.  Prowl observes that an unknown Transformer is acting as a spotter for Brawl.  The spotter is using technology to hide his identity.  Streetwise goes ahead of Prowl and drives circles around Brawl.  With one shot, Prowl cracks Brawl’s armor and rushes to him.  Prowl uses an interface to disable Brawl.  Prowl wishes that Huffer was still with him so they could easily bring Brawl back to base.  Inside the Autobot base, Prowl and Streetwise try to interrogate Brawl.  Brawn is stuck halfway transformed and he has a suppressor disc on him so he can’t complete his transformation.  Prowl asks Brawl if he is comfortable, to which Brawl responds “no”.  Both Prowl and Streetwise don’t want Brawl to be comfortable for his actions over the last few months.  He has allied himself with an evil dictator and he tried to kill both of the Autobots.  Prowl knows that someone is guiding Brawl, especially that Brawl isn’t intelligent enough to make plans like this on his own.  The suppressor disc malfunctions and shorts out Brawl.  Prowl and Streetwise bring him to Wheeljack who says it will take a lot of work to restore Brawl.  Prowl knows that the suppressor discs shouldn’t completely disable a Decepticon, so Wheeljack assumes that either the disc or Brawl was booby trapped. Secretly, Prowl goes to a hidden chamber where he is gathering evidence on Spike in regards to his involvement with Scrapper’s death.  When Spike learns that Prowl is investigating him, he goes to Prowl and admits to killing Scrapper.

Prowl takes Spike aside to interrogate him about Scrapper’s death.  Spike explains that he followed Scrapper for a long time, which Prowl makes the accusation of stalking the Constructicon.  Spike replies that he was doing recon and it was an operation, not a personal issue.  Prowl accuses Spike of murder, when Spike calls it an assassination.  Prowl still feels that Spike’s actions were personal.  Especially since the Constructicons caused the Holland Tunnel to collapse which killed one of Spike’s friends.  Spike asks what Prowl is doing, especially since he literally just confessed.  Spike feels that Prowl should be thanking him for killing a Decepticon.  Prowl still feels what Spike did was wrong.  Prowl says that he can’t trust Spike anymore, but Spike asks if he ever trusted him.  Prowl says that he used to trust Spike.  Spike reveals that while he likes the Autobots, he never trusted any of them because they aren’t human.  Prowl leaves the interrogation.  Streetwise goes to Prowl to tell him that Bumblebee wants to talk.  Bumblebee gathers the few Earth bound Autobots to brief them on their next move.  Bumblebee tells the Autobots that they have a lead on where to find Simpson from Sandra.  Prowl doesn’t feel that they should be hunting humans, but Ultra Magnus says they must.  Magnus explains that humans report to bureaucracy which can be corrupted.  The Autobots are less open to corruption.  Ultra Magnus wants to take Streetwise and Prowl to catch Simpson.  Prowl, Streetwise, and Ultra Magnus go to catch Simpson in vehicle mode.  Streetwise and Prowl are meant to take point while Ultra Magnus is going to be back up if needed.  They go to a residential neighborhood where Simpson is hiding.  The Autobots are also transporting several Skywatch agents inside of them.  The Skywatch agents burst into the house, and the Autobots lose communications with them.  Something from inside the house is jamming their communications.  Simpson is under control of an outside force and he is wielding one of the Megatron guns.  The Skywatch agents kill him, but it is revealed that Simpson is a facsimile. Under Ultra Magnus’ lead, the three Autobots trace strange transmissions to a parking garage.  They find Swindle hiding and Magnus arrests him.  The Autobots bring Swindle to their base to interrogate him. The Autobots hang Swindle, who is missing an arm, from the ceiling to interrogate him.  Swindle wants his arm back and the Autobots tell him that if he answers their questions, they will consider it.  Swindle asks the Autobots if they are willing to negotiate.  Ultra Magnus tells him that this isn’t a negotiation.  If he doesn’t cooperate, the Autobots will make everything a lot worse for Swindle.  Bumblebee asks Swindle where he got the technology to create the Simpson facsimile.  Swindle tells the Autobots that he didn’t find it, he built it himself.  Swindle reveals to the Autobots that he didn’t use the Simpson facsimile to sell weapons, he was selling them to Skywatch for the last few years.  That is how they got their advanced technology that they used so easily and quickly.  Bumblebee and Prowl rush out of the interrogation room.  Prowl asks Omega Supreme (remember, he is the Autobot base at the moment) where Spike is.  They learn that Spike left the Autobot Base 12 hours ago.  Omega Supreme then tells Bumblebee and Magnus that Pennington left the base 7 minutes ago.  Bumblebee is shocked since Pennington is confined to a wheelchair.  Omega Supreme tells Bee that Jazz transported Pennington out of the base.

(To be continued)

Prowl is described as being more intelligent than the average Autobot.

Wacky Facts

It is hinted that Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Prowl is the G1 Prowl rebuilt.
In the early planning stages of Transformers, Prowl was meant to be the leader. This is why the Autobot logo resembles Prowl.
