G1 Cartoon

Smokescreen was an Autobot who showed up with no explanation in season 2.  He was another Datsun like Prowl and Bluestreak.  Smokescreen’s name also was his power, he was able to emit a cloud of smoke in vehicle mode.

In Smokescreen’s first appearance, he watches the Dinobots wreck the Autobot base.  When time portals start opening up randomly, Chip Chase figures out that Dinobot Island is the cause.  Smokescreen travels with the Autobots with a jet pack to the island to investigate.  When the Autobots arrive on Dinobot Island, they quickly see the Decepticons stealing the island’s energy.  Megatron hits Optimus Prime with his cannon, and the rest of the Autobots attack the Decepticons.   The Decepticons are starting to win the battle.  The Autobots are on the ground and the Decepticons are unleashing the full power of their weapons on the damaged Autobots.  The Autobots are facing destruction.  They are saved when the Dinobots join the battle with the dinosaurs of the island.  The Decepticons are defeated and retreat.

Smokescreen joins an Autobot force to reinforce Optimus Prime when the Autobots travel to South America.  The Decepticons discovered the existence of a crashed Decepticon ship in the jungle.  Megatron integrated the Star Drive of the ship into himself and become more powerful.  Smokescreen attends to Optimus Prime after he is injured.  Optimus then orders Smokescreen to create a diversion so the Autobots can escape.  Smokescreen transforms and he drives through a canyon (like a drunk driver hitting the walls of the canyon numerous times) and creates a smokescreen.  Megatron starts shooting blindly and hits Smokescreen.  Together, the Autobots fire their weapons at a hill causing a rock slide.  The Decepticons are buried and the Autobots return to base to repair themselves.

Smokescreen later appears in a more lighthearted moment when Optimus Prime plays basketball against Smokescreen, Tracks, and Inferno.  Later, Smokescreen is part of an Autobot strike force that Optimus Prime creates to save Grapple, Hoist, and their Solar Tower from the Decepticons and Constructicons.  When the Autobots reach the Solar Tower, Optimus Prime orders them to attack.  The Autobots stay in vehicle mode and shoot lasers out of their headlights.  Smokescreen shoots the ground under Bonecrusher, sending the Constructicon flying into the air.  When the Autobots start to overpower the Constructicons, Megatron orders them to merge into Devestator.  Devestator attacks the Autobots with his eye beams.  The Autobots fight back, but their weapons aren’t strong enough to damage Devestator’s armor.  Smokescreen gets Devestator to kick him, but instead, Devestator kicks the Solar Tower.  Then, all of the Autobots focus their firepower together at Devestator.  Devestator and the Solar Tower fall apart.

Smokescreen and the Autobots respond to a distress call from a Solar Power Facility that was just built.  Starscream and the Coneheads tried to take control of the facility to make Energon Cubes.  When the Autobots arrive, they see that the Decepticons are already battling tanks driven by humans.  The Decepticons are overwhelming the tanks and destroying them.  Ironhide, Smokescreen, and Warpath combine their firepower to assault Starscream.  Starscream lifts his arms into the air to shield himself from the energy blasts but falls to the ground.  He calls out for Thrust to help him.  Thrust fires a barrage of missiles at the three Autobots, sending them flying into the air.  Smokescreen quickly recovers and shoots Thrust with his shoulder lasers.  Thrust is enveloped in smoke and looses control of his guidance systems.  Starscream realizes that they are about to be defeated, so he orders the Decepticons to retreat.  As they fly away, the Autobots continue to fire their weapons at them.  The mayor of Central City praises the Autobots for their good work.  When the mayor of Central City declares an Autobot Day holiday, Smokescreen is part of the parade in vehicle mode.   Shawn Berger disrupts the celebration of Autobot day by showing tapes of fake Autobots attacking an oil refinery and plotting to take over the world.  The tapes also shows a fake Optimus Prime with a fake Wheeljack using a device on Decepticons to make them act evilly.  The Autobots return to base, but are then arrested.  Optimus Prime orders the Autobots to show no resistance and to comply with authorities.   The Autobots are given a trial and are found guilty.  They are exiled from the Earth forever.  After their ship takes off, Megatron uses Teletran 1 to alter the flight plan to send the Autobots into the sun.  The ship is destroyed and the world thinks the Autobots are dead.  They survive when Trailbreaker surrounds the Autobots with a force field and links it to Cosmos.  Cosmos guides the Autobots back to Earth.

Smokescreen follows the Autobots to a rocket base to test a new weapon called the Negavator which Wheeljack created.  After the successful test, Smokescreen praises Wheeljack and calls him a genius.  All of a sudden, Red Alert’s early warning system goes off, alerting the Autobots that Decepticons are approaching.  Optimus Prime orders the Autobots to transform into vehicle mode to engage the incoming Decepticons.  The Autobots try to exit the compound, but they are ambushed by Rumble, Frenzy, and Ravage.  The three small Decepticons are unleashing a torrent of laser fire on the Autobots.   Ravage fires a missile at the door of the bunker.  The explosion prevents the Autobots from being able to leave to protect the Negavator.  Once Hoist and Grapple clear a path for the Autobots to escape the bunker, they see the Decepticon cassettes trying to get to the Negavator.   Inferno is forced to short out the Negavator to save Optimus Prime.  Between the Negavator being shorted out and the small team of Decepticons being outnumbered and outgunned, Soundwave orders a retreat.   They are ambushed by the Decepticons when Rumble uses his pile drivers to create an avalanche.  They transform into robot mode, but boulders continue to fall on them.  Starscream, the Seekers, and the Coneheads swoop down from the air in jet mode and start unleashing a fury of weapons fire on the Autobots.  Smokescreen sees Megatron leaping towards the Negavator.  He creates a field of smoke to stop Megatron.  Thrust, Dirge, and Ramjet fly through the cloud of smoke and become temporarily blind.  They try to use their radar to navigate, but Smokescreen fires a disruptor blast from his hands and fries their electrical systems.  They wind up flying into the walls of the canyon.  The Decepticons fly off to retreat after they are unable to steal the Negavator.

Smokescreen gathers outside of Omega Supreme with the Autobots so they can start a rescue mission to recover Perceptor and Seaspray.  Smokescreen observes something is strange with Beachcomber.  As the Autobots travel to rescue their friends, they are quickly intercepted by a fleet of Decepticons with Electrum armor.  Smokescreen deploys his shoulder lasers in vehicle mode and fires them at the Decepticons.  The Decepticons are protected by the Electrum armor.  Smokescreen tries to hide himself while attacking with a cloud of smoke.  The Decepticons have learned by now how to deal with Smokescreen when he does this.  They fire all of their weapons at the cloud of smoke and damage Smokescreen.  Smokescreen is launched into the air and crashes into the ground.  The Decepticons defeat the Autobots, but they let all of the Autobots survive.  A damaged Smokescreen approaches Omega Supreme.  He tells Omega Supreme that he is the last hope that the Autobots have.

Smokescreen is sent on a mission with a few other Autobots to defend a farm from a swarm of Insecticons.   The team of Autobots are overwhelmed by the swarm of Insecticons.  The transform and retreat.  After the Autobots return to their headquarters, Smokescreen apologizes to Optimus Prime for the Autobot retreat.  Optimus commends Smokescreen for getting the Autobots back safely and understanding that he was outnumbered.  Smokescreen goes on a mission with the Autobots to a jungle valley.  They want to save Cosmos and prevent an infestation of Morphobots from spreading.   Once the Autobots rescue Cosmos from the Morphobots, Megatron has Dirge, Ramjet and Blitzwing fly into the valley to steal the Insecticide.   The Decepticons destroy the insecticide, but the Morphobots attack them.  Soon, the swarm of Insecticons and their clones travel to the valley.  The Morphobots eat the Insecticon clones prompting the Decepticons and Insecticons to fly away.  The Autobots send the Morphobots into space where they can’t hurt anyone or anything on Earth.

Smokescreen travels with the Autobots to San Francisco to battle a mechanical alien dragon that is threatening the city. After the Alien Dragon attacks the Autobots, Smokescreen repels it with a cloud of smoke. Eventually Omega Supreme joins the fight and sends the Alien Dragon retreating back into space.

The Decepticons take control of a Baseball Stadium to build a Space Bridge.  Smokescreen  and the Autobots make their way to the stadium to defend the humans.  When they arrive, they find the Decepticons are already terrorizing the humans for their own twisted fun.  Ravage leaps towards Smokescreen and knocks him into the Space Bridge.  The Space Bridge malfunctions and activates itself.  Smokescreen is part of a group of both Autobots and Decepticons who are sent across the universe.  The transformers arrive on an alien planet, specifically an alien child’s room.  Both sides think that the other is trying to trick them.  The Alien planet is inhabited by creatures so large, that they can hold a Transformer in their hand. The Autobots watch as the Decepticons are attacked by strange creatures.  The Autobots load the Decepticons’ Energon Cubes inside of Optimus Prime’s trailer and start to explore the alien environment.  They soon discover that they are in a giant child’s room.  Everything that has attacked the Decepticons is either a child’s pet or a child’s toy.  The Autobots hide inside of a toy house and watch the boy, named Aron, deal with the Decepticons in different ways.  Aron has no clue they are Transformers, he thinks they are all new toys.  Starscream gets free and finds the Autobots hiding in the toy house.  He starts a fire by shooting the Energon Cubes and the Autobots are discovered.  Aron quickly realizes that the Autobots are different from the Decepticons after Inferno puts out a fire that Starscream caused.  Also, the Autobots seem to be a little more passive.  Instead of immediately trying to escape like the Decepticons, they explored their alien surroundings.  The Autobots befriend Aron after they introduce themselves to him.   When Aron’s parents get home, he shows them the Decepticons first, then the Autobots.  The parents take the Transformers away and bring them to a lab so they can be studied and dissected. Before the Autobots can be dissected, Aron grabs them and runs away.  Aron and the Autobots are chased by alien police.  A bully named Marty tries to take the Autobots away from Aron.  Optimus Prime shoots the cage open and the Autobots climb into a garbage can to hide. .  Aron gathers the Autobots and brings them to his house so he can hide them.  Before Aron can get home, the authorities catch up with him.  The Autobots leap into the sewer to hide from capture.  Bumblebee complains that the sewage isn’t clean.  The Autobots are intercepted by the Decepticons in the sewer.  Eventually, the Autobots get to Aron’s house and plan to use his father’s telescope with the stolen Energon to make a makeshift Space Bridge.  The Decepticons trick the Autobots and are transported back to Earth.  The Autobots use Aron’s toy rocket ship to leave the planet.

While still inside of Aron’s toy rocket, the Autobots race through space to return to Earth.  The rocket starts to lose momentum and the Autobots are captured.   The Autobots are captured by an alien captain named Bosch.  He wants to sell the Autobots into slavery for Energon.  They are deactivated and put into stasis pod like tubes.  Smokescreen’s (while somewhat looking like Diaclone Bluestreak) tube malfunctions and he is the last Autobot functioning.  Smokescreen frees himself and points his weapon at Bosch.  One of Bosch’s guard shoots Smokescreen in the back and he is paralyzed.  Bosch takes Smokescreen’s gun away and tells Smokescreen that the paralysis is only temporary.  Bosch seems to have a gambling problem, he is so addicted to gambling that he has a slot machine in the stasis chamber room of his ship.  Smokescreen wagers his freedom to Bosch while saying he can beat the slot machine.  Smokescreen cheats by plugging into the slot machine, but he does outwit Bosch.  Bosch proposes to Smokescreen that they go to Monacus, a gambling planet, and gamble.  Smokescreen is willing to let Bosch use the deactivated Autobots as collateral to get Energon Chips to gamble with.  Smokescreen quickly stipulates that if he wins enough Energon for Bosch, the captive Autobots have to be set free.  Bosch quickly agrees and they go to Monacus.  Before they get on their way, Bosch reminds Smokescreen who is in charge by shrinking the deactivated Autobots.  When they land, Bosch informs Smokescreen that they have a far walk to the casino.  Smokescreen says he never walks and transforms into car mode.  Despite Bosch being as tall as Smokescreen is (in robot mode), Bosch is able to ride inside of Smokescreen (in car mode).  When they reach the casino, the pit boss doesn’t want to let them use the deactivated Autobots as collateral, he says that he has enough robots at the moment.  After realizing they have no other choice, they travel to Lord Gyconi, another gambler.  Lord Gyconi resides in the slums of Sheol.  Gyconi runs a gladiator like gambling ring, where if you stay in the pit of destruction for 60 seconds, you win a substantial amount of Energon Chips.  Slizardo approaches Smokescreen and Bosch and demands that they pay five Energon Chips each for admission.  Slizardo takes them to see Lord Gyconi.  Bosch asks Gyconi to use the Autobots as collateral and he restores them to their regular size.  Gyconi offers to give them 500 Energon Chips at 500% interest, Bosch wants to refuse, but Smokescreen accepts.  Gyconi then tells them that they have one hour to pay the debt.  If they don’t pay, Gyconi will keep the Autobots forever.  Knowing that it is virtually impossible for Smokescreen and Bosch to pay the debt on time, Gyconi has Slizardo ready the Autobots for the gladiatorial games.  Smokescreen cheats (really?  This is a kids show, they can’t show that you can cheat and win) and wins more Energon Chips than they will ever need.  Smokescreen gets too greedy and attracts the staff of the casino.  He bets every Energon Chip they have but the pit boss prevents him from cheating again.  Smokescreen looses every chip that he won.  When they return to Gyconi, he takes possession of the incapacitated Autobots, but as a thank you gift, he gives Smokescreen and Bosch two tickets to watch the Autobots fight for their lives in the gladiator pits.  Smokescreen is afraid that the Autobots will be torn apart in the pits (dumbass, it is your fault) and after being removed from Lord Gyconi, he vows he will rescue his friends (who he sold so he could gamble and got carried away and CHEATED).  Smokescreen and Bosch go to a local bar to reiterate that they were greedy and put the other Autobots in danger and regret gambling.  Smokescreen notices Devcon in the bar, an Autobot.  Smokescreen thinks that because Devcon has an Autobot logo on him, that he will automatically want to help them save the Autobots.  Smokescreen invites Devcon to him him and Bosch.  Smokescreen asks Devcon why he is on Monacus, and Devcon reveals that he is a bounty hunter and he has tracked three Decepticons to Monacus.  Smokescreen suggests that they look in Lord Gyconi’s lair.  Smokescreen and Bosch go to the games and watch Optimus get defeated by an animalien.  Smokescreen wants to help Optimus, but Bosch won’t let him.  After Optimus Prime is defeated in the gladiator games, Inferno is brought out to help Optimus in a two on two battle.  The two Autobots are pitted against two animaliens.    Before the match starts, Smokescreen creates a cloud of smoke so he can help Optimus Prime and Inferno escape.  Smokescreen’s plan doesn’t work, none of the Autobots are able to escape.  Smokescreen transforms into car mode and with Bosch inside of him, they drive in the streets of Sheol.  They think they got away, but they quickly realize that Dirge and Ramjet are flying above them.  While in jet mode, the two Decepticons fire their blasters at Smokescreen, and then drop bombs on him.  One of the bombs hits Smokescreen and he flies into the air.  He lands right side up and tries to escape from more Decepticon attacks.  Dirge follows him and drops more bombs.  Smokescreen is upside down and smoke is pouring out of it.  Dirge and Ramjet work together to finish him off.  They swoop down and let more bombs drop out of them.  Before the bombs can hit Smokescreen, Devcon shoots them out of the air.  After defeating Dirge and Ramjet, Devcon checks on Smokescreen.  Smokescreen quickly recovers and tells Devcon that he is impressed by his combat skills.  Smokescreen invites Devcon to join the Autobots on Earth, but Devcon says he has other responsibilities in Space.  Devcon does agree to help Smokescreen save the Autobots from Lord Gyconi.  While in vehicle mode, Smokescreen barrels down the streets of Sheol with Devcon running after him.  Slizardo stops them to tell Smokescreen, Devcon, and Bosch that Lord Gyconi is preparing to leave Sheol with the Decepticons while keeping the Autobots as his captives (It really is a good thing that they were already on their way to rescue them and its a really good thing to have extra unneeded exposition from a character that is basically useless).  The Autobots are at the Sheol tarmac loading Energon Cubes into Astrotrain.  Smokescreen, Devcon, Slizardo and Bosch reach the tarmac before the Decepticons depart.  Smokescreen demands that they free the Autobots, but Ramjet fires his blaster at Smokescreen.  Smokescreen and his friends scatter.  Ramjet continues firing his blaster, and Dirge and Gyconi use their weapons as well.  Smokescreen and Devcon head for cover behind some rocks and continue firing their blasters.  Ramjet tells Gyconi to take the enslaved Autobots into Astrotrain before he loses control of them.  Bosch and Slizardo try to save the enslaved Autobots, but Astrotrain finishes refueling and joints the fight.  Smokescreen notices that his new friends are about to be killed by Astrotrain.  Smokescreen transforms into vehicle mode and creates a field of smoke so they can escape from Astrotrain.  The Decepticons and Gyconi give up way too easily and board Astrotrain to escape.  The Autobots’ minds are restored and they have no memory of anything after Bosch capturing them.  Inferno wants to attack Bosch, but Smokescreen tells Inferno that Bosch is a friend of the Autobots.  Now that everyone is friends, Bosch takes the Autobots back to Earth.

Smokescreen and Hoist drive on a highway together to search for four missing Autobots.  They are contacted by Powerglide who found their remains at a football stadium.  The Constructicons took the remains of the missing Autobots and turned them into a throne for Blitzwing.  They drive into the stadium and enter the Highway Maze that the Constructicons built for Blitzwing. Hoist and Smokescreen are able to navigate through the maze with Powerglide’s help.  Smokescreen uses his smoke cloud abilities to make Scrapper choke.  This gives Hoist the cover he needs to lasso the throne and steal it from the Decepticons.

The US Government develops a super fuel and Optimus Prime plans to test it for the government on the Autobots.  Smokescreen is part of the security detail that guards the tanker trucks while they deliver the super fuel.  He quickly mentions that things are too quiet.   Of course, the Decepticons strike from the air to gain possession of the super fuel.  The Autobots have the tanker trucks stay behind while they engage the Decepticons.  Smokescreen points out the obvious fact that if the Decepticons’ lasers hit one of the tanker trucks, it will explode and all of the fuel will go with it.  The Autobots guide the tanker trucks into a canyon which impedes the air based Decepticons from following.  Dirge and Thrust crash into the canyon walls, but Ramjet continues to chase the Autobots.  Optimus Prime guides the Autobots towards a tunnel to evade Ramjet.  Ramjet crashes into the mountain.  Megatron tries to ambush the Autobots when they emerge from the tunnel.  While Optimus Prime and Prowl match wits with Megatron, Smokescreen races towards Megatron and emits a cloud of smoke.  Optimus Prime and Prowl open fire and Smokescreen soon follows their lead.  Megatron is forced to fly away in defeat.

Smokescreen follows Optimus Prime to an area near Seattle to fight the Decepticons and Stunticons.  The Autobots want to take control of the Key to Vector Sigma away from Megatron before he turns the planet of Earth into a new Cybertron.

Smokescreen goes to Paris with several other Autobots to take part in the Europa 2000 race.  The race is a competition for the best drivers in the world that starts in Paris and ends in Istanbul.  The winner gets a large sum of money as a prize, as well as a large donation in his or her name to a charity.  The Autobots participate in the race and if they win, they will donate all of their winnings to charity.  One of the racers, Augie Cahnay, objects that the Autobots are participating in the race.  He feels that since they aren’t human, they are too advanced for the human drivers and unfair competition.  The race’s judges allow the Autobots to participate since the race is for charity.  Augie doesn’t know that Optimus Prime sent the Autobots to protect him and his advanced car from the Decepticons.  The Autobots transform into their car modes and prepare to start the race.  Augie drives very dangerously, but he also drives with precision.  He is able to guide himself easily between all of the cars. While speeding on a highway, Smokescreen thinks he will be the first Autobot to get to the finish line.  Smokescreen has no idea that Wildrider is flying above him.  Wildrider transforms into car mode and drives right into Smokescreen, knocking him off the road.  Drag Strip assists Wildrider and plows into Smokescreen as he is tumbling off a hill.  Smokescreen transforms and crawls back to the road.  Bluestreak finds him and tries to attend to Smokescreen’s injuries, but before he can, he is attacked by the Stunticons.

An energy based creature called Kremzeek attacks the Ark. After it evades Optimus Prime, Kremzeek  passes Jazz, Hoist, Smokescreen, and Sparkplug.  It shorts out Jazz and Hoist.  Smokescreen fears the small creature after seeing what it did to his friends and defers to Sparkplug to deal with it.  Sparkplug grabs Kremzeek but it shocks him.   Smokescreen picks up a wooden table to shield himself from Kremzeek.  Kremzeek flies through the air and punches a hole in the table to enter Smokescreen.  Smokescreen starts to transform uncontrollably between robot and vehicle mode.  In car mode, he starts to drive in circles inside of the Ark and lets out a cloud of smoke.
Ratchet tells Smokescreen to stop spewing smoke inside.  Smokescreen tells the other Autobots that he can’t control himself.  Kremzeek leaves Smokescreen and enters Ratchet.

Since Smokescreen was not seen in Season 3, it is assumed he died in the battle of Autobot City

Marvel G1 Comic

Smokescreen was one of the first Autobots born on Earth.  The Autobot ranks were depleted by The Decepticons and Optimus needed reinforcements.  Bumblebee takes Smokescreen and the other new Autobots on a field trip out of The Ark to learn about Earth.  Optimus cuts the trip short when he orders the new Autobots to investigate a rock concert where Shockwave and The Decepticons are going to harness sound energy as Energon.  The Autobots defeat Shockwave and the rest of the Decepticons and return to The Ark.

Smokescreen is killed years later in battle on Ethos by Jhiaxus’ army.

The Autobots are shipped to South Korea in a cargo ship.  They remain in vehicle mode so they won’t cause an international incident.  When the coast is clear, the Autobots emerge from their shipping containers.  Spike is unhappy with how Skywatch handled transporting the Autobots, and Optimus tells him that an army is only as good as their leader.  Spike calls Optimus Patton.  Optimus doesn’t know who that is and Cliffjumper thinks that Spike was referring to Patton Oswalt.  The Autobots go inside of a hangar and Spike tells them that no matter what, they have to stay in vehicle mode.  If it gets out that the US is harboring the Autobots, the President will be Impeached (he doesn’t know about the clandestine arrangement), Spike will be arrested, and the Autobots will be deactivated.  Spike brings Skywatch weapons for the Autobots. The Autobots’ vehicle modes and they race with US Soldiers to battle the Combaticons.  Smokescreen is the first to go into battle and the soldiers are confused why a sports car would be on a battlefield.  Smokescreen opens fire on Vortex and kicks up a lot of dirt and smoke.  The Autobots have some cover now from the smoke.   Vortex takes out a sword and slashes Smokescreen.  Vortex takes to the air to get away.  Skywatch mechs join the Autobots.  One of them shoots Onslaught in the face.  Skywatch and the Autobots plan to drive the Combaticons into the ocean.  Onslaught reminds his foes that the Combaticons are water proof.  Broadside appears in boat mode and fires at the Combaticons with his massive cannons  Vortex continues his dogfight with Jetfire and slashes his wing.  Jetfire crashes into Broadside and the Combaticons escape.

The Autobots go to where the Combaticons are hiding.   Cosmos disables spy satellites above North Korea so the Autobots can fight in robot mode.   Prowl and Jazz attack Brawl who is in tank mode.  Before the battle can continue, the Predacons show up because the battle is getting too close to China, who they have pledged allegiance to.

The Autobots and Predacons battle.  The Predacons retreat when they learn that Russia has sent nuclear missiles to attack them.

A human with a Decepticon weapon tries to assassinate Bumblebee.  The Autobots take a Skywatch plane to see Bumblebee.    Smokescreen asks how a regular person got Decepticon weaponry.  Smokescreen accuses Spike of setting the Autobots up.  Optimus still has faith in Skywatch, Spike, and the alliance.  Before Skywatch and the Autobots get to their destination, they pick up something approaching the plane at very high speeds.  Jazz tells all of the Skywatch agents to get inside of their mechs.  Something tears apart the plane.

Megatron contacts Optimus Prime and his group of Autobots (and Skywatch agents!).  Megatron tells Optimus that he has abducted the other Earthbound Autobots in a communication.  Megatron knows that Optimus and the Autobots are already on their way to save their friends.  Megatron wants to destroy Optimus Prime and Earth.  Skywatch tracks the transmission to New Mexico.  The Autobots and Skywatch agents prepare to attack the Decepticons.  The Autobots transform and drive to save their friends.  Smokescreen scouts ahead for Optimus Prime.  As the Autobots get close, Optimus Prime tells them they should travel the rest of the way on foot.  Megatron points to the nearby city and says that there are 46 humans in the city armed with Decepticon weaponry made from his old body.  Megatron then says that there are hundreds of weapons across Earth and Optimus will never be able to find all of them.    Megatron then surprises Optimus by telling him that the captured Autobots are in the city.  Megatron’s plan is to discredit the Autobots since the Autobots would have to kill humans to save their friends.  Optimus Prime wants Skywatch to find the captured Autobots.

Smokescreen was able to create a cloud of smoke in vehicle mode. This ability was useful to aid in Autobot escapes. At least one time he exhibited the ability to deploy lasers from his vehicle mode. Smokescreen had a computer jack in his arm that he could use to reprogram computers.
