G1 Cartoon

Sunstreaker was another Autobot who had limited screen time and characterization.  He was an Autobot warrior along with his brother Sideswipe.  Sunstreaker was very vain (almost irritatingly vain) and transformed into a yellow sports car.

Sunstreaker was part of an Autobot strike force on Earth tasked to stop Megatron. The Autobots track the Decepticons to an off shore oil platform.  Once they arrive, the Decepticons attack.  After a brief battle, Megatron damages the oil rig and retreats with the Decepticons.

The Autobots save the workers and return to the Ark.  They have little downtime because the Decepticons then attack Sherman Dam to harness more energy.  Sunstreaker is part of the attack force to defend the dam.  After the battle on the dam, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe save Trailbreaker, Spike, and Sparkplug from a Decepticon attack.  One of the Decepticons hits Sunstreaker, who complains that it damaged his paint job.  Sunstreaker then deploys a gun from his trunk and shoots down the Decepticon.  Both Decepticons wind up retreating.  The Autobots then attempt to stop the Decepticons from mining the ruby crystals of Burma. The Autobots set off a bomb to trap the Decepticons, but the Decepticons are able to escape.

Sunstreaker joins the entire force of Autobots when they attack the Decepticon Base.  The Autobots want to prevent the Decepticons from leaving Earth.  The Autobots arrive at the same time that the Decepticons are boarding their ship.  During the battle, The Autobots have the upper hand in the battle, but the Decepticons retreat to their space cruiser.

Later, Sunstreaker is part of an Autobot team whose mission was to stop the Decepticons from gaining the power of Anti Matter.   When the Autobots attack, Megatron uses the Anti Matter Energon Cubes as weapons, causing a massive explosion.  The Decepticons escape and the damaged Autobots return to base for repairs.  Soon after the Autobots are repaired, the Decepticons attack.  Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are the first to attack the Decepticons.

When the Dinobots are created, the first thing they do is attack the Autobots.  Sunstreaker is injured in the battle, and complains that his paint job was messed up.  The Autobots prevail and the Dinobots are deactivated.  Sunstreaker goes on a mission with several other Autobots to fight the Decepticons at a dam.   Megatron  attacks the Autobots, sending them plummeting into the water.  The Decepticons bind the Autobots with energy chains, and prepare to destroy them.  The captured Autobots are saved by Wheeljack and the Dinobots.

Sunstreaker  and the Autobots travel to India to fight Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp.  The Autobots use hydrofoils, created by Wheeljack, on their vehicle mode to travel on the water.  Sunstreaker’s vanity shows itself again.  He complains that the hydrofoils clash with his paint job.  The battle is very brief because it was a diversion to get the Autobots out of their base so Sparkplug could be kidnapped by Laserbeak  Sunstreaker is one of the Autobots who goes into the ocean to attack the Decepticon base and recover Sparkplug.  Again, Sunstreaker complains, this time he worries that the salt water will damage his paint job.  While underwater, Megatron attacks the Autobots.  Sunstreaker avoids damage and swims behind Megatron.  Sunstreaker fires a torpedo at the Decepticon leader.  Once Cliffjumper, Brawn and Windcharger save Sparkplug, the Autobots retreat back to base.  While Ratchet works on repairing Sunstreaker, for the third time in the episode, he makes a comment about his appearance.  Before the Autobots can catch their breath, Megatron leads the Decepticons to attack them again.

Sunstreaker travels to Bali to help the Autobots investigate Insecticon attacks.  The Autobots arrive at a farm just when the Insecticons and Decepticons form an alliance.   Sideswipe and Sunstreaker leap into the air and tackle Shrapnel and Kickback.  Together, the two brothers attack Megatron, but he is too powerful for them.  Megatron swats Sunstreaker away and tosses Sideswipe into the air.  Once the Autobots start attacking the Decepticons and Insecticons, they fly into the air to get away.  The Insecticons separate from the Decepticons to attack the Autobots.   Shrapnel is able to use one of his abilities to take control of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker’s motor functions.  They are still aware of everything, but they can’t control themselves in vehicle mode.  Trailbreaker cuts Shrapnel’s control with his force fields.  The Autobots track the Insecticons and Decepticons to an oil refinery.  When the Autobots arrive, they fight the Decepticons.  After Bumblebee shows the Autobots that their tires in vehicle mode will protect them, Wheeljack rides Sunstreaker to attack Shrapnel.  Sunstreaker tells Wheeljack not to damage his paint.  The battle ends when the Insecticons betray the Decepticons and steal their Energon Cubes.

Megatron challenges Optimus to a one on one battle.  When it is time for the battle, Sunstreaker is an observer.

Spike’s mind is transferred into a robot body, he goes crazy and starts to damage the Autobot base.  Sunstreaker and Sideswipe attempt to restrain Autobot Spike.  They are unsuccessful and Autobot Spike tosses them into a wall.

After the Dinobots move to Dinobot Island, time portals start opening up.  Sunstreaker goes with Optimus Prime and the Autobots to investigate.  After the Autobots dig Bumblebee and Spike free, they see a time warp.  A woolly mammoth and a caveman have already come out of the time warp and are causing damage to the town.  The longer it stays open, the more cavemen and mammoths come through the portal and damage the town.  The Autobots work to corral the cavemen and mammoths, and Optimus reminds the Autobots to be gentle since they are living creatures.  Sunstreaker lifts a mammoth over his head to subdue it, he is attacked by a few barbarians with maces.  He complains that they damaged his finish and then he gives them a mild shock.  They are sent running away.  The time portal is starting to close, Sunstreaker uses his blaster to slow it down.  The Autobots successfully send the cavemen and mammoths back to their proper time by sending everything back into the portal.

After Cliffjumper discovers where the Decepticons may be hiding a piece of stolen energy creating equipment, Sunstreaker joins the Autobots on a mission to recover it.

While a gold mine is being attacked by Decepticons, Optimus Prime sounds the alarm to rally the Autobots.   The Autobots transform and head to the mine to fight the Decepticons.   As the Decepticons are about to kill the miners, the Autobots attack.  The Decepticons free the miners to prevent the Autobots from attacking.  Megatron takes out a sidearm and shoots at boulders causing them to roll into the Autobots.  The boulders roll over the Autobots, damaging them.  The battle comes to an abrupt end when the Decepticons abduct Gears and fly away.  The Autobots return to their base and the Earth is in jeopardy of being destroyed when the Decepticons are stealing solar energy.  The Autobots travel to Africa to stop the Decepticons, save the Earth, and save Gears.  When the Autobots get close to the Decepticon base, jungle plants prevent them from traveling to fight the Decepticons.  Optimus Prime orders Jazz and Sunstreaker to use their lasers to make a road for the Autobots.  When they reach the Decepticon base, Optimus Prime orders the Autobots to fire on the Solar Needle to destroy it, even though it puts Gears at risk.  The Autobots’ attack is reflected back at them by a force field Megatron erected around the Solar Needle.  Cliffjumper disrupts the force field by leaping into it in vehicle mode, and the Autobots attack.  The Autobots have the Decepticons at gun point, but Megatron is holding Optimus Prime as a hostage.  Optimus Prime tells the Autobots to disregard Megatron and to destroy the Solar Needle.  The Autobots can’t, they drop their weapons and surrender.  The Autobots can’t, they drop their weapons and surrender.  Optimus Prime convinces Gears to disable the Solar Needle and the sun doesn’t explode.  The Autobots rush into battle.  Of course the Autobots win, the Decepticons retreat, and Gears is restored to normal.

Sunstreaker helps defend the Ark when a clone of Optimus Prime replaces the real Optimus Prime.  When the real Optimus Prime arrives at the Autobot base, the clone tries to get the Autobots to destroy  The Autobots fight the Decepticons and figure out which Optimus is the real one.

After the Decepticons ally themselves with the undersea nation of Atlantis, they invade Washington DC.  Sunstreaker travels with the Autobots to liberate the city.  The Autobots arrive in time to make it into the city before the Atlantean force field is activated.  Sunstreaker disappears during the battle.

The mayor of Central City declares an Autobot Day holiday, Sunstreaker is part of the parade in vehicle mode.  Sunstreaker comments that the humans of Central City have good taste.  Shawn Berger interrupts the ceremony with a tape of the fake Autobots fighting the Decepticons at the oil refinery.  Berger then shows another video taken of a fake Wheeljack telling a fake Optimus Prime that the Autobots have been using a device on the Decepticons to make them act evilly.  The Autobots return to the Ark to await an investigation.  After the Autobots reach their headquarters, Sunstreaker says that he knew eventually the humans would turn on the Autobots.   Soon, Shawn Berger’s tanks approach the Ark with Shawn and the Mayor in a helicopter.  The Autobots are given a trial and are found guilty.  They are exiled from the Earth forever.  After their ship takes off, Megatron uses Teletran 1 to alter the flight plan to send the Autobots into the sun.

After the Autobots were exiled from Earth, Cosmos guides the Autobot spacecraft away from Earth.  The ship is destroyed and the world thinks the Autobots are dead.  They survive when Trailbreaker surrounds the Autobots with a force field and links it to Cosmos.  Cosmos guides the Autobots back to Earth.

Wheeljack, Mirage, Hound, Sunstreaker, and Sideswipe travel over the water with their hydrofoils to New York City.  Optimus ordered them to meet him in Central Park to protect the Manhattan from the Decepticons.  Megatron has already stolen the Empire State Building.  As the Autobots sail passed the Statue of Liberty, they discover they are being spied on by Laserbeak.  Optimus Prime is defeated in battle and captured by the Decepticons.  Megatron takes control of New York City causing the Autobots and the human inhabitants of the city to leave in a mass exodus.  Sunstreaker returns to the city after some of the Autobots recover most of Optimus Prime’s parts and rescue him.  The Decepticons target the Sunstreaker and the other Autobots with Optimus’ gun and uses it to fire energy blasts at them.  Optimus Prime orders all of the Autobots to scatter and transform.  Bumblebee and Spike guide Sideswipe and Sunstreaker through the side streets of the city.  They soon realize they are being followed by taxis that were modified by the Constructicons to fight the Autobots.  The cabs deploy a laser cannon from their roof and prepare for Soundwave’s command to fire.  The Decepti-cabs start firing and the Autobots take evasive action.  They barrel down the street but are met with more Decepti-cabs.  Sideswipe leads the Autobots to avoid destruction.  Together, all three Autobots jump over the Decepti-cabs in vehicle mode.  Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and Sunstreaker continue racing down the New York City streets until they get to the Decepticon Fortress.  The Constructicons defend the fortress with cannons attached to the compound.  The Decepticons are defeated, Optimus Prime is made whole, and the Autobots help restore New York City.

The Decepticons attack an observatory to steal a device called the Voltronic Galaxer.  Sunstreaker transforms and follows with the Autobots to protect the observatory and the device from the Decepticons.  The Autobots arrive at the observatory too late, the Decepticons have already escaped with the device.

Jazz leads Gears, Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Mirage on a recon mission.  They were notified of strange Decepticon activity. .  Sunstreaker realizes that something is wrong when the river they were driving to is missing.  Bluestreak asks Sunstreaker if he is sure, and Sunstreaker comments that he wouldn’t be able to lose something as big and wet as a river.  The Autobots follow the dried up river and discover that the Constructions made a dam to divert the river for the Decepticons. Oddly, Sunstreaker takes command of the mission.  He orders the Autobots to transform and follow the dried up lake to a waterfall.  They lose track of the Constructicons at a waterfall.  The Autobots search for the Decepticons at the waterfall..  Devestator sneaks up from behind the Autobots and throws a rock at them. They fall off a cliff but aren’t damaged.  Devestator leaps off of the cliff to engage the fallen Autobots.  He quickly uses his eye lasers to attack the damaged Autobots and they fly into a rock wall.  Mirage shoots a cable at Sunstreaker.  While Jazz distracts Devestator with a light and sound show, Mirage and Sunstreaker trip Devestator with the cable.  The Autobots are able to return to the Ark for repairs.  After Sunstreaker is repaired, he goes on a mission that night with a small covert team.  The Autobots want to test out Wheeljack and Chip’s new invention which should be able to put Devestator under Autobot control.  Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, and Jazz deploy afterburners from their hands to fly to the bottom of the waterfall.  The Autobots lure the Constructions out of the Decepticon base.  As Bonecrusher rides over a hole, Sunstreaker attaches a Dominator Disk on him.  After all of the Constructicons have Dominator Disks attached to them, the Autobots are lifted out of the canyon by an elevator attached to Optimus Prime’s trailer.  Later that night, Sunstreaker helps attack the Decepticon Base.  He uses a rock as a ramp to gain altitude in vehicle mode.  He then transforms and starts firing his blaster.   Once Devestator joins the fight, Chip and Wheeljack activate the Dominator Disks and Devestator is under Autobot control.

Spike and Chip propose to Optimus Prime that the Autobots participate in a race for charity.  Sunstreaker boasts that a large crowd would want to see him race.  Early in the race, Sunstreaker pulls ahead and does a wheelie.  He drives in between the slower Autobots to maintain his lead. While the Autobots were racing, Skywarp flies above them and uses a device to trap the Autobots in vehicle mode.  The race ends with no clear winner because the Autobots kicked up so much dust, no one could tell who won.  After the race, the Autobots line up next to each other so Sunstreaker can jump over them.  Optimus Prime warns Sunstreaker that he isn’t going to be able to reach the necessary speed to successfully jump over the Autobots.  Sunstreaker boasts again that when he was built, it broke the mold. He falls short but instead of crashing, Windcharger grabs him with his magnetic beam.  Sunstreaker implores Windcharger to be gentle because he just got a fresh coat of wax.    The Autobots learn they are trapped in vehicle mode when the Decepticons attack.  Sunstreaker is saddened that he is not able to share his beautiful robot mode with the world.  Optimus Prime commands the Autobots to attack the Decepticons while in vehicle mode.  The Decepticons subdue the Autobots by shooting out their tires and overheating their engines.  The Autobots are captured and brought to Megatron’s ghost town.  Megatron plans on using a crushing device to destroy the Autobots.  Wheeljack, Ratchet, Brawn, Huffer, Bumblebee and their human friends arrive with a grenade that restores the Autobots’ ability to transform.  Once he’s able to transform into robot mode again, Sunstreaker says that he’s glad that everyone can see his beauty again.

After an Autobot rescue team was defeated by the Decepticons, Mirage returns to the Ark and organizes the Autobots to defend their headquarters. Oddly, Mirage reports to Sunstreaker.  Mirage tells him that none of the Autobots’ weapons work on the Decepticons.  Sunstreaker puts Mirage’s combat abilities down and says that he’ll show Mirage what a real warrior can do.  The Decepticons covered themselves with a substance called Electrum which makes them unable to be damaged.  Sunstreaker prepares to defend the Ark from the Electrum enhanced Decepticons.  When the Decepticons attack, Sunstreaker exposes a blaster on his roof and fires at Starscream.  Starscream is not affected at all.  The Decepticons defeat the Autobots, but they let all of the Autobots survive.  After Powerglide finds the source of the Electrum, Sunstreaker goes to the lagoon with the Autobots to coat himself with Electrum.  The Electrum coated Autobots fight the Electrum coated Decepticons, but neither side is able to damage the other.  During the battle, the Decepticons’ Electrum wears off and they are forced to retreat.  Unfortunately, the beautiful valley that hid the Electrum poll was destroyed in the battle.

Sunstreaker learns that Hoist was cast in a movie.  Sunstreaker wants his own time to shine, so he speeds onto the set and does a few stunts.  Warpath, Powerglide and Tracks also want to be in the movie.  The Director is so impressed with their performance, he gives them each a role in his movie.  Powerglide does the same exact thing that Sunstreaker did, and Sunstreaker calls Powerglide a ham.  Powerglide, Sunstreaker, Tracks, and Warpath complain to Hoist that they aren’t enjoying being in the movie.  They thought they would be more than just stunt vehicles.  Sunstreaker complains that his joints hurt.  Hoist tries to talk to the director for the Autobots, but he is rudely dismissed.  The Autobots are so angry that they transform and storm out of the studio.  Sunstreaker, Powerglide, Tracks, and Warpath are happy to return after the Director turns the movie into a science fiction epic and promises to give the Autobots bigger roles.  Now, the Autobots are alien robots in the movie and have to wear strange rubber masks.  Tracks feels foolish and Sunstreaker asks if he wants to quit.  Tracks wants to continue.  In one scene, the Autobots are in a fake spaceship.  By this point, the Decepticons have learned about the Autobots taking part in the movie.  Rumble replaces the pyrotechnics with real explosives.  The movie is halted and the Autobots are injured.

Sunstreaker goes to Paris with several other Autobots to take part in the Europa 2000 race.  The race is a competition for the best drivers in the world that starts in Paris and ends in Istanbul.  The winner gets a large sum of money as a prize, as well as a large donation in his or her name to a charity.  The Autobots participate in the race and if they win, they will donate all of their winnings to charity.  One of the racers, Augie Cahnay, objects that the Autobots are participating in the race.  He feels that since they aren’t human, they are too advanced for the human drivers and unfair competition.  The race’s judges allow the Autobots to participate since the race is for charity.  Augie doesn’t know that Optimus Prime sent the Autobots to protect him and his advanced car from the Decepticons.  The Autobots transform into their car modes and prepare to start the race.  Augie drives very dangerously, but he also drives with precision.  He is able to guide himself easily between all of the cars. The race continues throughout Southern Europe with no clear winner.  Sideswipe blames Sunstreaker for preventing him from taking the lead, and Sunstreaker blames Sideswipe.  On a tree lined road, the Autobots notice that the Stunticons have joined the race.  The four car Stunticons (so not Motormaster) surround Sideswipe and Sunstreaker in vehicle mode.  Dead End breaks formation and speeds ahead.  He transforms and starts firing on the two Autobots with his blaster.  Sunstreaker tells Sideswipe to hit his brakes to escape the Stunticons.  Before Sideswipe can evade the Decepticon cars, he is hit by one of Dead Ends energy bolts. Then Dead End fires on Sunstreaker.  Both Autobots are knocked off the road and have to withdraw from the race.

After Megatron captures Perceptor to cure his Cosmic Rust, Megatron is willing to release Perceptor back to the Autobots.  Perceptor is infected with Cosmic Rust and is attached to a bomb.  Sunstreaker goes with the Autobots to save Perceptor.

Sunstreaker goes with both Autobots and Decepticons when they go to Cybertron.  The two armies unite to stop the Combaticons from making the Earth plunge into the Sun

Sunstreaker's final appearance is Transformers the Movie. He travels from Cybertron to Autobot City on Earth with Optimus Prime, Hound, and the Dinobots to defend it from a Decepticon invasion. Since Sunstreker is not in Season 3, it is assumed that he died in the battle.

Marvel G1 Comic

Sunstreaker and his brother Sideswipe, much like in the G1 Cartoon, were not used often and when they were, they were basic grunts for battle scenes.

Sunstreaker was part of the crew of the Ark, the spacecraft captained by Optimus Prime tasked with protecting Cybertron from an Asteroid Field.  After the Decepticons attacked, the Ark crash landed on a Prehistoric Earth.  Four Million years later, a volcano erupted and reawakened the Autobots and Decepticons.  The first time Sunstreaker saw action on Earth was when the Decepticons attacked The Witwickys in attempt to learn how Sparkplug planned to convert Earth Fuel to a form which could be used by Cybertronians as food.  He and Sideswipe fought back against the attacking Decepticons.  Sunstreaker seemed to be the one more concerned about his brother, but they had a competitive streak between the two of them.

When Optimus Prime leads a team to recover a kidnapped Sparkplug, Sunstreaker is part of the team and fights Skywarp.

Sunstreaker is among the Autobots severely damaged when Shockwave takes control of both The Decepticons and The Ark.  He is shown in the medical bay when Prowl is giving a tour to GB Blackrock.

Sunstreaker was killed in battle but brought back to life when Grimlock uses Nucleon to raise a number of dead Autobots.  He takes part in the battle on Cybertron against Unicron.

IDW Transformers

Before the war, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are shown in the crowd of a gladiator match run by Megatron.

Sunstreaker becomes a valuable Autobot warrior.  When Trypticon is carving a path of destruction through a city, Sunstreaker helps lead Trypticon into a trap.  The Autobots think they have defeated Trypticon, but that only lasts momentarily.

Before Sunstreaker came to Earth, he was a commander of an Autobot outpost which Deadlock and the Decepticons attacked.  Sunstreaker helps one of the few survivors, Metalhawk, escape.

Millions of years later, Sunstreaker winds up on Earth.  Prowl, Ironhide, and Sunstreaker protect Ratchet, and his new human friends from Thundercracker.  They deploy weapons in vehicle mode and fire at the Decepticon Jet.  After Thundercracker is defeated, all of the Autobots transform.  They arrest Ratchet for disobeying orders.

Sunstreaker is part of an Autobot team sent to a Decepticon base to engage them.  Bumblebee scouts ahead and tells the Autobots that the coast looks clear.   Prowl tells all of the Autobots that they need to contain the Decepticons before the humans know that they are on Earth.

Sunstreaker and the Autobots arrive at the Decepticon base in time to save Bumblebee from Runabout.  They also observe Megatron battle Starscream.   The Autobots watch Megatron defeat Starscream.  None of the Autobots fight the rest of the day.  They transform back into vehicle mode and go back to the Ark-19.  They realize they need their “heavy hitters”.

Inside the Autobot base, the humans play a video game where they control a virtual Sunstreaker.  Prowl has Sunstreaker and Ironhide bring the humans home.   Ironhide and Sunstreaker transform to take the humans home.  Hunter rides inside of Sunstreaker.  Sunstreaker and Ironhide emerge from Lake Michigan, totally unaware that they are being watched by a group called The Machination.  On the highway, Sunstreaker speeds ahead of Ironhide.  Ironhide reminds Sunstreaker that the humans have speed limits.  The two Autobots and their human passengers are totally unaware that The Machination is following them in a few trucks and an RV.  Sunstreaker asks Hunter where they should go.  Hunter tells him he is from Tulsa Oklahoma.  The Machination continues to stalk the two Autobots and the humans.  They send out two car like drones to engage the Autobots.  The drones move quickly and cause a few cars to get into an accident.  The drones fire missiles at Innocent cars, creating a bottleneck which impedes the Autobots. The Machination RV lets out a cloud of smoke which jams the Autobots’ communications. Several Machination soldiers exit the RV with sophisticated weapons.    Hunter tells Sunstreaker to get them out of there.  Sunstreaker cant.  He wants to open fire with missiles, but Hunter stops him so innocent people won’t get hurt.  Before Sunstreaker can transform, a Machination soldier shoots him with a disc which overloads him.  Sunstreaker explodes with Hunter inside.

Sunstreaker’s head is found by Hunter O’Nion in a Machination base.  Sunstreaker is asking Hunter to kill him.  Sunstreaker has been reverse engineered so the Machination can make an army of Sunstreakers who are Headmasters.

The head of Sunstreaker tells Hunter that the humans are using his head to help control the drones they made of Sunstreaker.

Sunstreaker and Hunter continue to talk.  All of the Headmasters have Sunstreakers knowledge.  Hunter offers to become Sunstreaker’s new head and together they will merge.  Hunter goes into a  machine which completes the Headmaster process and causes Hunter extreme pain.

Hunter emerges from the machine and tells Sunstreaker that aside for a bad headache, he doesn’t feel any different.  A Machination scientist enters the room and sets off the alarm.  Hunter goes to fight him and realizes he now has super strength.  He punches the scientist and sends him crashing through a door.  Sunstreaker’s head seems to be malfunctioning.  Hunter knows he needs to get to safety, he runs towards the factory floor and finds several headless Sunstreakers.  He wants to use one to escape.  Hunter transforms into Sunstreaker’s head and then one of the drone Sunstreakers picks up the head and attaches it.  Scorponok attacks in scorpion mode.  The combined Sunstreaker and Hunter have better reflexes than before and escape in Sunstreaker’s vehicle mode.

Sunstreaker and Hunter continue their partnership.  Together they go to Massachusetts to a Machination base.  They are still looking for Sunstreaker’s real head.  They don’t find it so they destroy the building with missiles.  Sunstreaker is frustrated, but Hunter tries to comfort him.  They steal a flash drive with Machination secrets on it.  Hunter plugs it into a terminal inside of Sunstreaker’s vehicle mode.  They learn that The Machination is doing something with Dinobots in Texas, so that is their next stop.

In Tennessee, Hunter wants to change course.  They learn that the Dinobots are fighting in Fallon Nevada.  Sunstreaker wants to go to Dallas because he assumes the Machination has a hub there.  They are going at 160 MPH, so a police officer tries to stop them.

When Sunstreaker and Hunter reach Dallas, they realize that the Machination base is bigger than they expected.  Hunter wants to make a plan, but Sunstreaker is ready to fight and recover his real head.  Sunstreaker transforms and Hunter separates from him.  Hunter is apprehensive to do a full assault since last time they encountered Scorponok, he almost killed them.  Hunter decides to sneak into the base himself.

Hot Rod is about to be executed outside of the Machination by Headmaster Sunstreakers.  The REAL Sunstreaker saves him.  Hot Rod is still in no condition to fight.  He tries to convince Sunstreaker not to go in alone.  Sunstreaker tells him that he will just blend in.  Sunstreaker walks into the Machination base.  Sunstreaker finds the room with his real head, but someone shoots him in the back.  Its Scorponok in scorpion mode.  He tells Sunstreaker that from the moment he walked into the Machination facility, he knew that was the real Sunstreaker.  Sunstreaker is fading away, but Hunter finds his real head.  Hunter disconnects it from the Machination systems and the Headmaster Sunstreakers stop functioning properly.  A few days later, Sunstreaker and Hunter are on the Ark-32.  Ratchet is working on repairing Sunstreaker but doesn't know how to return Hunter to his pre-Headmaster form.

Sunstreaker listens to Tracks tell a story of how Jazz saved Tracks’ life in the past.

The Autobots stay on Cybertron for about a year in Earth time.  In that time, the Decepticons attack New York City.

Cliffjumper approaches Ironhide to tell him that he picked up a signal from Wheeljack and that he needs help.  Sunstreaker wants to join, but Ironhide want Sunstreaker to keep watch over Mirage.

As the Autobots travel deeper into Cybertron, Kup suggests they stop and take a break. Sunstreaker walks off into an abandoned building.  Sideswipe follows him and says that they need t talk.  Sunstreaker doesn’t want to and he wants to be left alone.  Sunstreaker is no longer bonded with Hunter, but there are psychological effects.  Sunstreaker goes to Ironhide to complain about Sideswipe.  Sunstreaker antagonizes Ironhide to be angry at Mirage.  Ironhide singles out Mirage and beats him down. Mirage refuses to fight back.

Sunstreaker is standing on a bridge on Cybertron alone.  Ironhide approaches in vehicle mode and asks Sunstreaker what he is doing.  In flashbacks, we see that Sunstreaker made an alliance with Starscream.  Ironhide asks Sunstreaker if he is trying to get himself killed.  Sunstreaker says yes.  Sunstreaker reveals that he is the traitor.  He wanted to ally himself with Starscream to defeat Megatron, but he didn’t expect Optimus to get hurt  Sunstreaker promised Earth to Starscream so the Autobots could retake Cybertron.  He also wanted the Decepticons to kill as many humans as possible in retribution for what was done to him by the humans.  Suddenly Ironhide and Sunstreaker are shot with Insecticon darts.  Sunstreaker tells Ironhide to try to escape.  Drift shows up to save them.  Sunstreaker stays behind to activate explosives and Ironhide rides on top of Drift who is in vehicle mode.  Sunstreaker activates the explosives successfully and Sunstreaker is thought to be dead.

Sunstreaker didn’t die on Cybertron.  He survived and remained significantly damaged for a year.  He is found by Ironhide who takes him to Alpha Trion.  When Sunstreaker sees Alpha Trion he asks if he is being judged.  Alpha Trion makes Sunstreaker go to sleep.

Sunstreaker emerges from Alpha Trion’s bunker fully repaired.  Ironhide asks Alpha Trion what the plan is now.  Alpha Trion is going to leave with Sunstreaker but Ironhide has to stay on Cybertron to kill the last remnants of Insecticons.  Ironhide is frustrated and punches Alpha Trion. Alpha Trion gets up and tells Ironhide that he is a warrior and he needs to act like one.  Sunstreaker wants to stay with Ironhide.  Partially to atone for his sins.  Alpha Trion gets inside of Metroplex and flies away.

Ironhide bursts into Rodimus and Wheelie’s ship with guns drawn assuming they are Decepticons.  Rodimus is shocked to see Ironhide because he thought Ironhide was dead. Rodimus then sees Sunstreaker, who he also thought was dead.  Rodimus thinks he died and is in the afterlife.   Ironhide and Sunstreaker are shocked to see Wheelie, who has been missing for a very long time.  Rodimus points at Sunstreaker and asks what he has on a leash.  Sunstreaker domesticated one of the Insecticon swarm and named him Bob.  Garnak doesn’t know that Rodimus and Wheelie are friends with Ironhide and Sunstreaker, so he opens fire on Ironhide.  The attack does no damage to Ironhide.  Rodimus wants to find out what happened to Ironhide, but Sunstreaker doesn’t want him telling Ironhide that he died before.  Rodimus wants to look outside at Cybertron, and Wheelie stays inside with Ironhide and Sunstreaker.   Sunstreaker goes outside with Rodimus.  Rodimus learns that Alpha Trion saved both Sunstreaker and Ironhide, and now Rodimus knows that the ancient Autobot is real.   Sunstreaker tells Rodimus that he wants to atone for all the things he did wrong to the Autobots.  Wheelie joins them and continues to speak in his annoying rhyming.  Sunstreaker asks Rodimus why Wheelie speaks like that and Rodimus has no idea.  Rodimus asks what the story with Bob is.  Sunstreaker tells Rodimus that Bob helps them track the Insecticon swarm.  Suddenly, the Autobots are attacked from the air.    Rodimus and Wheelie return to Ironhide and Sunstreaker and tell the two Autobots they should leave Cybertron.  Sunstreaker says that the Matrix is refusing to give them energy.  Rodimus wants to use the fuel cell which Alpha Trion gave Sunstreaker and Ironhide to escape.  Before they can, they are attacked by a fleet of Sweeps.  The Autobots are able to escape before the Sweeps reach them.  They go to Earth.

The Autobots gather and see that Rodimus is back.  Rodimus is wearing the Matrix around his neck again.  Ironhide also returned to Earth with Sunstreaker and Wheelie.  There is a lot of tension between Sunstreaker and Mirage.  Optimus Prime tells the Autobots that Cybertron is habitable again, but Galvatron is out there forming an army.  Optimus plans to go back to Cybertron inside of Omega Supreme and tells the Autobots that he will take whoever wants to go with him.  All of the Autobots aside for Bumblebee plan to go back to Cybertron.  Red Alert sees that Sunstreaker still has Bob the Insecticon and wonders why.  Sunstreaker tells him that Bob is useful.

Ironhide tells war stories and Cliffjumper is thoroughly entertained by them.  Sunstreaker still feels like an outside and is guilty for the things he has done.  He seems to have a hard time integrating back into the fold, but he does his best.  Sunstreaker stays back with Bob the Insecticon.  When the Autobots land on Cybertron, Optimus Prime splits them up.  Optimus has Drift and Rodimus go with him.  Optimus Prime also decides to take Sunstreaker and Ironhide since they have spent the most time on Cybertron in recent times.  Optimus Prime has Cliffjumper stay behind to organize the landing party of reinforcements.  Optimus Prime wants Omega Supreme to stay in orbit and not to fight unless he is needed.  Optimus Prime tells the Autobots that Omega Supreme is their only way home.  Ironhide comments that Cybertron is their home.   Galvatron welcomes the Autobots back to Cybertron. Optimus Prime is very wary of Galvatron’s intentions.  Galvatron tells Optimus Prime and the Autobots that he doesn’t want to fight them and he plans to give them Cybertron when his mission is completed.  Galvatron refuses to tell the Autobots what his plans are for the future.  Optimus asks who Galvatron is preparing an army to fight.  Galvatron tells the Autobots that it is something that can destroy them all.  Rodimus doesn’t believe that Galvatron isn’t going to harm them, especially since Galvatron attacked him recently.  Galvatron actually apologizes and tells Rodimus that he had no control over his soldiers and was forced to attack Rodimus.  Optimus declines the alliance, but tells Galvatron that he doesn’t want to fight.  Galvatron points his cannon at Optimus and tells him that if the Autobots aren’t going to ally themselves with him, they will be destroyed.  Before Galvatron can fire, Ironhide tackles him.  Galvatron orders the Sweeps to attack the Autobots.    The Sweeps attack the Autobots in force.  Optimus Prime opens fire and Ironhide follows his lead. Cyclonus strafes the battlefield in jet mode.  Galvatron grabs Cyclonus and escapes.   After the battle, Optimus gathers the Autobots.  He tells them that he doesn’t trust Galvatron (really?  Did we really have to have the obvious explained to us?).  Cliffjumper implies that Sunstreaker is an expert in not trusting.  Optimus reprimands Cliffjumper.  The next thing the Autobots see is the Kimia Outpost in Cybertron’s orbit

As the Kimia Outpost arrives in Cybertron’s orbit, it deploys its main cannon to attack the surface.  All of the Autobots dive to cover.  Optimus Prime sends the Autobot fliers, including the Aerialbots and Powerglide, to do recon.  Optimus Prime rallies the ground troops for different tasks.  Since Sunstreaker has the most recent knowledge of Cybertron’s cities, he is sent to create a mobile base of operations.  Drift is sent to back up Sunstreaker.

The Autobots watch as an enhanced Megatron battles the Sweeps (successfully) The Decepticons who were on Earth join the fight with the Autobots.   When the Constructicons merge into Devestator, it turns the tide of the battle. Red Alert wants the Autobots to fall back to Omega Supreme.  Sunstreaker tells the Autobots that Omega Supreme is not in any condition to protect them.  Sunstreaker contacts his “friend” Garnak.  Sunstreaker has a plan, and he needs as many explosives as he can get.  Sunstreaker goes to the battle but he is riding a chair.  Sideswipe asks what he is doing.  Sunstreaker sends Bob the Insecticon to attack the Sweeps.  Sunstreaker goes to Devestator to talk.  Sunstreaker was merely biding his time so he could cripple Devestator with explosives.  Suddenly, all of the Decepticons go into a trance and stop fighting.   All of the Decepticons and all of Galvatron’s forces merge into a massive monster.  The Deceptigod known as D-Void.
